When we reach the top, we look into each other's eyes. I feel a connection.

Before I know it, I'm kissing him. It feels weird knowing it will be our last kiss for a while. We pull apart and I smile at him.

"Don't kiss anyone else when I'm gone," I say.

"I won't," Josh responds with a wink.

I laugh because I know he means it. I trust him.

Chapter 10
|Chloe|

The next morning, I wake up. Today is the day. The day I move.

I look out my window and see the moving vans. Brown boxes already fill my room. It's sad seeing my room so bare and empty, but exciting knowing that everything will soon be in a larger room.

I head downstairs in my pajamas and look around the kitchen. There's nothing left except for the stuff we can't take with us.

There's a breakfast sandwich from Starbucks on the counter with a note that says, Dad and I are outside helping load the trucks. Eat this for breakfast, then change into the clothes you left out for today. When you're ready, meet us outside.

I follow her instructions then head outside.

"Good morning Chloe!" Mom says happily.

"Good morning..." I mumble back, still tired.

"How'd you sleep?" she asks.

"Well," I respond, even though I didn't sleep that well.

"We don't need any help so you can go make sure we have everything, then grab the bag you are taking with you for the trip," Mom says.

"Okay," I respond.

We arrive in Florida at around 3:00 P.M.

It feels so weird not knowing anyone. Usually I would be hanging out with friends, but instead I'm unpacking tons of boxes.

Our new neighbors watch us, but don't help.

I feel awkward, since I'm going to have to get to know them soon. How am I going to make new friends?

"By the way Chloe, we already made sure you are signed up for school so you will be starting on Monday," Dad says, as if reading my mind.

"Great!" I say sarcastically.

"I don't appreciate the sarcasm," Dad says sternly.

"Sorry," I say, rolling my eyes.

"Don't roll your eyes at me, young lady," Dad says back with his eyebrows furrowed.

"Don't be so harsh, Chloe's just nervous about going to a new school," Mom interrupts our mini fight.

Finally, someone who gets me.

"Thanks Mom for understanding," I say, walking over to give her a hug.

"I'm sure you'll make lots of friends Chlobird," she says, using my old nickname.

I hope she's right.
