Zane's P.OV
I stared up at Sebastian weakly, his eyes weren't cold like before. They held nothing, not even hate was visible in him. I wanted to ask questions especially about soulmates but he had been quiet for the last week. Travis worried that he was angry with him which also confused me.
"Please..." My voice came out like a whisper, weak and pathetic.
I didn't understand, why did he raise the difficulty of my sessions. Maybe he was mad with me which wouldn't be a surprise but...
I stared at the deep cut across my leg, it burned with the chemicals that covered the blade he held. Tears stained my cheeks and more overlapping. Blood dropped onto the floor once Sebastian slowly reached for a plate with different buttons.
"W-where's Travis..." I took a breath, cursing at my shaky voice. "Are you going to h-hurt him..."
The other male furrowed his eyebrows, pressing the glowing button. I became wary of his actions as a liquid was poured into a bucket. It didn't smell like the one that was poured on my arm weeks ago.
"What makes you think I'll hurt him. I can't do that, at least not physically." Sebastian spoke harshly.
"What does that mean?"
"Do I really have to explain? There's really nothing I could do that would make you understand." He carried the bucket to his desk, a syringe in his other hand. "Let me ask you, what could you do to someone who is to important to hurt but needs punishment?"
I cringed as he filled the syringe with the liqiluid in the bucket. "Not hurt him."
He laughed, a sound that made me back up toward the wall.
"Don't be foolish. The answer is to beat the one they care for most. What else would you do?"
My eyes widen as I finally understood why he changed my schedule and difficulty. Sebastian grabbed me by the neck, stabbing the syringe into my arm and releasing the liquid.
A growl escaped my throat, pushing him off me and ripping the needle out from my arm. "Bastard..."
He rolled his eyes, "Like I didn't know already."
My headache seemed to be worse, feeling the substances flow through my blood. Before I could ask what he'd injected me with, a punch to my jaw caused me to whimper. Every time I felt myself beginning to turn he would hit me to lose my focused on shifting. I wanted nothing more than to run away as far as I can, as far as I would be able to but even if I wanted to Travis was the only reason I wanted to stay.
If hurting me only caused that idiot mental pain then I would take whatever Sebastian threw at me. For Travis.
My mind stayed still for a moment as he shocked me with the bracelets he'd locked into my wrist. I knew my body was covered in blood and ashes, my skin loaded with cuts, bruises, and burn marks. Vision wasn't on my side as it seemed to fade away slowly, wanting me to sleep but be awake to at least try and protect myself.
"What happened..." I gaged as he kick me in the throat, feeling humiliated to cry in front of him like this, "You didn't s-seem to have a p-problem be-before..."
"Project One can't possibly have a soulmate, Demon warlocks together, from recent studies, shouldn't be able to form a bond that strong. It's never been seen nor would it be safe, if you'd been human he could have killed you."
"Why kill m-me if I-I'm his soulmate." My voice was hoarse and low as I glared at him from the floor.
He crossed his arms, "When a Demon Warlock has the soulmate of a human, it's more of a loathing process. It corrupts both minds to feel like they're life will be ruined if the other is alive."
"What if it's a the same species?" It feels as if my throat is cracking...
"It's stronger together, powerful even."
I coughed up blood, cockily raising my eyebrows, "Scared?"
Sebastian stepped on my hand roughly, a scream escaping my lips.
"Not exactly of you."
"Please stop..." My voice was a whisper, begging quietly in my head.
"Once he finds out about the two of you..." He grabbed my arm and quickly broke the bone, "Those words wouldn't stand a chance to leave your mouth..."
I...
I want Travis...
Please...
