Being a boy

The world doesn't care if a boy cries
They'll laugh at his red teary eyes
When a boy is hurt he can not express pain
The world will believe his will has wained
If a relationship has it's problems
It's the boy who's twisted by evil powers
A boy can't have a broken heart that's nonsense
Boys are stupid, only want sex, they're heads are dense
Nobody cares if his pillow is soaked from a night of sorrow
Nobody will care if his will to love is gone by tomorrow

He can do all right and still be so wrong
And people wonder why men's pride have to be so strong

The world sees us as monsters as little boys
They think we see the world and women as nothing but toys

So long is the night when a boy questions why
God gave him so much love but can never express it or he'll surely die

He can cry and pray that the woman he loves will stay
To only have the girl say he's pushing her away

A boys heart is an ocean. It's deep and it's pure
Pollute it too much and there will be no cure

For the disease society creates within our minds

Deep is our mental scars and fear holds us in a bind

We have to harden our hearts so they don't break

Our lives are impossible to dictate

Become the monster society sees you as or try to stay good

The good never stay happy and how I wish they could

I wish people would understand our feelings matter too
We cry we laugh and we do our best
And yet it's so hard for people to digest

That we're human we're not perfect but neither are you
We try our best and we love so do you
We're not your enemies we're your brothers and husbands and very best friends

So please don't make the light in us end
For in darkness a man's heart will be corrupted beyond measure
And it brings us not a single drop of pleasure

To become the monsters you see us as so we can try to find happiness but we'll forever be left without a heart
For that's the only way a boy can survive in this world without falling apart
