Descending

A strange light awoke me
Out of my room I stumbled, disoriented and sleepy
Through the hall and into the spare room
The light shown through the growing cracks
It was too late to escape and I fell through

I expect to fall, instead I slowly descended
I glanced above and the cracks had mended
Floating down I landed in the dark and dusty city

There was almost no light but it was strangely busy

So I walked, wandering in the flow of people
To my surprise they all started to clear
In the empty streets only one thing remained
Clothed in black, no voice and no name
The shadows of his hood shrouded his face
Almost as if his expressions were a disgrace

He started to approach me, revealing his jagged teeth
It was a surprise he wasn't blinded by his coarse hair
But his intentions were blinded to me
Yet I could see his mind was falling apart at the seams

Is this what would become of me If I didn't escape this city of dreams?
