Old Safe Places

Shoulders heavy by the shame
Bodies folding in the waves
Trembling, knowing he'll never feel again

This is the pain I brought when I couldn't take the weight
This is the chill we will never manage to shake
I wish you'd just leave before your psyche finally breaks

If I'm doing this right we have so little time
And now you know why I have so much on my mind

I can see us wind down at a steady pace
We run down the road in search of our old safe place

Little did you know, our bones are too far broken
Foundations are lost, abandoned and crumbling down

How do I show the world what we're made of alone?
