Show No Emotion, Feel No Pain...

I sat down in the living room with my eyes glued to the TV screen. I couldn't take my eyes off this film. I really loved the movie ATL. At this point in my life, I could relate to it so much. My thoughts suddenly turned to the last time I'd watched the film, with Keenan... and the dirty things we did after. At that point in my life I couldn't deny, I felt much happier than I am right now. While Kane peacefully slept in my arms. I rested my head on his and slowly began to rub his temple with my thumb. I have come this far on my own; there is no point in giving up now. I felt my eyes beginning to sting once I saw T.I and Lauren London kiss during the car scene. I couldn't help but wonder why plots in movies couldn't happen to people in real life. Love movies are just stupid fairytales with humans instead of cartoon characters. The quicker I realize this better off I will be. I couldn't help but cry, they were so happy... but of course it all came crashing down because of the smallest things.

“Hmmm." I sighed holding Kane closer to me and securing the duvet around his small body. I turned off the TV and soon fell asleep.

The next day, I woke up and got ready while Kane had a lay in. I decided that I was going to call and look around for nurseries today. After all, it was about time Kane went to one. I couldn’t look after him forever; I had to start going back to work and whether Tyson suggested the idea or not, I was doing this for other reasons. I picked up my phone off the table and called my mum, she picked up after the third ring and I smiled.

“Hi sweetie, what’s wrong?” I chuckled a bit at the thought she always thought something was wrong whenever I called.

“Nothing’s wrong mum, I just wanted to see if I could get Kane into a nursery or...”

“Finally.” She interrupted. “It’s about time you put that boy into one. You can’t keep him home forever.” I nodded as if she could see me. She was right, I couldn’t.

“Yeah, do you know anywhere I can..?”

“There’s one just around the corner from mine, and a church friend of mine works there also. I’ll speak to her about it on Sunday and see if they’re accepting new children.”

“Okay mum... I’ve got to go now I can hear Kane upstairs.” I told her, she said a few words before hanging up. I quickly made my way upstairs and noticed Kane sitting up in his bed rubbing his eyes.

“Morning cutie.”

“Burrrgh.” I rolled my eyes and got him out of bed and in the bath quickly. Once I was done I got him ready and took him downstairs to have some breakfast.

“I need to go shopping today,” I spoke to myself while taking a quick sip from my tea, Kane stared at me weird.

“What?” I asked him. He only shook his head.

“Daddy said you couldn’t do shopping because you have no monies.” I scrunched up my face and slightly snorted at Tyson’s comment.

“When did he say that?”

“Last time I was wit’ him with aunty Dest-”

“She’s no aunty of yours, never call her aunty even if dad tells you to.” I told him quickly and picked up his finished bowl of Golden Nugget’s before putting it in the sink and quickly washing everything up.

“Go put on your shoes, we’re going Tesco.” Kane nodded and hobbled off to get his stuff. I awed for a while at him before he came back dangling his feet at my legs, his laces hanging at each side of his converses. I laughed and bend down to his level and quickly laced them up in a neat bow, not forgetting to tuck the sides in so he didn’t trip over.
