"And that's how I got here. What king kills their own brother?" Erik said. We were eating some sort of dried fruit. The guards had left us the bowl earlier.
"So...that makes the king on the thrown now--"
"My cousin," he finished. I shook my head. That was a fucked up situation.
"You're here to fight for the throne?" I said.
"Something like that," he chuckled. I nodded my head and bit a piece of the mango.
"Here try this one," he quickly popped the fruit in my mouth. It was tangy and crumbled instantly.
"Is it a mandarin?" I said laughing. He laughed. I studied him, his dimples at the end of his smile. I felt myself blushing, my cheeks raising up to my ears. He cocked his eyebrow and smirked.
"What you want girl?" He said. I looked away and pushed the bowl to him.
"I'm sorry about your father," I said lowly.
"Don't be, I'll avenge him today."

The cell doors creaked open and I damn near ran into the wall. Guards came in and unshackled us. They dragged Erik out first and then me behind him. They were mean looking men clothed in beautiful armor of some sorts. They walked into a large room and suddenly I felt like nothing but a spec of dust. People sat around in a circle. The guy in the middle had on purple and a long black shirt underneath. He was a dark skin man with a low cut. Next to him was a stunning older woman with a crown on her head. They all looked amazing. We stopped in front of them.
"Thetha...speak," said one of the men. He wore silver chest armor and a green shirt.
"I'm standing in your home," Erik boomed confidently. I tried to shrink back but a bald woman pushed me forward.
"T'Challa!" Someone yelled. Just that fast I had missed something. The man that sat in the middle seat had got up and was in Erik's face.
"Who are you!" The man with the turquoise lip plate yelled.
" Ndiyinkosana N'Jadaka unyana ka N'jobu," one by one they all jumped out of their seats. The woman with the crown stayed seated.
"Lies!" She yelled. Erik smiled.
"Hey Auntie," Erik said haughtily. The woman rolled her eyes dismissively.
"I accept your challenge." Erik was dragged back out. Once Erik left I was left looking stupid.
"And you outsider?" The woman spat. Before I could say anything the man with the blue blanket stepped in front of.
"He says you are not allowed to speak to her," he said before leading me out the door. I walked down the hallway. We were going back to the cells. Once inside my cell I was left alone. Erik wasn't in the cell. At times like this I wish I had my mothers eucalyptus.

"Where is she!" A man yelled. It was pitch black in the room and still no Erik.
"Erik?" I called out.  The talking stopped. There was no movement  and no shuffling of feet. I slowly drifted back to sleep but I thought I could see a shadow in the dark.
"Nitambi..."
