The breeze flew through the air, lifting the once lifeless cherry blossom petals from their trees.
I watched them dance around in the sky.
Entangling in one another.
I watched them fly, floating around in perfect ribbons, reaching their highest peaks and then tumbling back to earth so effortlessly.
There was a simplistic beauty in them.
A beauty that reminded me so much of you.
They reminded me of the way you danced. How your body moved so perfectly, so seamlessly.
They reminded me of your smile, how soft and simple it was but how much it could shine.
They reminded me of the time that we had shared together.
And their short lived adventures reminded me of how fast it all had ended.
They reminded me of how fast I had lost you.
How it all happened in the blink of an eye.
