'FOR WHAT WE BELIEVE'
caught in white
we are on the battlefield
fighting for what's right
fighting for what we believeour arms rise up high
we raise war
ready for this fight
our voices roarfar above the sky
the gods watch in distasteshaking their heads
the angels sigh, what a shamethought they had learned
fifty times beforethought that enough lives had been lost,
thought that enough generations had been harmed.
but clearly humans haven't had enough
hungry for more blood
hungry for fighting dirty and roughthe games and treason
fighting for beliefs
fighting for any given reasonshaking guns in the air
screaming shame, there's suddenly traitors everywhere
behead them, torture them, kill them all
slaughter those impure
as if history hadn't shown them what mistakes dothe giant scars left
on themblood on the floor
give them blood
give them tearsgive them screaming, bombings, dark times, living in fear----
caught on the battlefield
wearing white
fighting alongside lionsthinking, this isn't right
so you hold up your handstell them to stop
light behind your eyes
fascinates the enemy just enough
for them to drop the weaponsto hold on and eyes meet
but not all are gentle, kind enoughto let you speak
metal is driven through your heart
and the white flag you're wearing
strapped around your skin
embedded from withincolors red
indicating the lust, greed and hunger
that can never be satisfiedfor monsters can only feed on blood and fear
and we are monsters, killing our own kind
at the edge of destruction, extinction, we tie our own hands from behind.
only making it harder for ourselves
making it harder and harder, every time.
