My step mother overworked me, in the hopes I wouldn't have time to make my suit.

What she didn't know was I abandoned days of sleep for the suit.

It was a light pink suit, with silver decor around the also silver buttons. White lace at the collar and sleeves made the suit perfect.

I tossed my needle aside, sighing in relief. I looked outside and saw that delivery boy again.

Curious of why he was out this late, I grabbed a coat and rushed outside.

,.,

"Hello? What are you doing on my property?" I called out. The man turned around, purple eyes wide.

"This is your property? So sorry." he replied, smoothing his hair.

"What are you doing?" I asked again, crossing my arms.

"Walking."

"Alright. Who are you?" I crossed my arms.

"Me? Oh, I'm nobody."

"Your name, I mean."

"My name is not important."

"If you say so." I mumbled.

I felt like I was forgetting something.

A mask!

"Blast!" I groaned, smacking my forehead.

"What?" the man asked.

"I need a mask!" I moaned.

"For the ball? Here," he handed a mask to me.

I raised an eyebrow at him.

"Why are you giving me this?" I asked. The man chuckled.

"I sell masks and I happened to have one to suit your handsome face," he replied, grinning.

"How convenient."

"Indeed, it must be fated."

"Mmm. Will you be at the ball?" I asked, smiling back.

"Well now that I know you're going, I will go."

"You barely know me."

"I hope to know the mysterious wood nyph better."

I laughed, a sound I haven't made for a while.

"I hope so too, mysterious delivery boy."

We talked a bit more before parting ways.

,.,

I placed the mask in the pocket of my suit. I fell asleep, humming to myself once again.
