Cinderella's Chapter Ten

I walked up the steps into the castle and stared, in wonder, at...at everything.

I looked at the crowd of people dancing, hoping to find my friend. I didn't know what he'd look like in a suit and mask, but hopefully we'll find each other.

I walked away from the crowd, exploring the gorgeous castle grounds.

"Excuse me, can I have this dance?" a familar voice asked. I turned in surprise.

"Of course."

I didn't hide my slightly deep male voice but the man didn't seem surprised. He took my hand, and gently grabbed my waist. I placed my hand on his shoulder, blushing.

"You look beautiful."

"Thanks."

"I didn't expect you to come here like this, my wood nymph."

"Neither did I. Things change."

"So will you tell me your name or...?"

"Not yet. I barely know you."

"True."

"How about a nickname?"

"Sounds easier than calling you wood nymph."

"Or you delivery boy."

"Hmm...I'll call you Aqua."

"Is it the dress?" I laughed as he spun me around.

"Yes. And your eyes."

"How romantic."

"I am a romantic."

"I'll call you Lost."

"Lost? Why?" he laughed.

"Because you would've been lost without me."

"True." Lost chuckled, squeezing my hand. I blushed even more.

We danced, and I kept an eye on the clock. He noticed but said nothing.
We talked a bit as we danced, which was nice.

"I have to go...my family will be home and I'm not really allowed to be here." I mumbled. Lost nodded, bowing.

"Until next time, Aqua."

"Indeed, Lost."

I rushed off, running as fast as I could in glass heels.

A/n: there's a Cinderella version where there are three balls. The third is the lost slipper. I'm doing that one.
I'll be skipping the second ball. Basically its just the two talking and dancing lol.
Ells gets a different gown for each ball. The second dress is a pink one, like the one Cinderella wore before it was torn. Yeah, idk.
Slippers still be worn btw.
