A/N-Thank you to @moonraess for the beautiful cover!

Imagine you're in a hospital room with your mother, who is dying from an unknown that has baffled doctors all around the globe. Your boyfriend is seated right next to you, comforting you the best he can. His dad died the same way, and the grief comes back, after sitting with you for hours, watching your mother die. "I wish I knew what to say, I don't know what to say," he says, flabbergasted. You're shocked as well; knowing this was going to happen, but didn't know it was going to happen so soon. "I wish...I wish I could bring her back," you say.

Before your mother died she had written a will, stating the following things:

Upon my death, these belongings shall be kept in my family, and will become their most prized possessions, because they were mine. I leave them with love and utmost confidence that they will find happiness, just like I did. I leave:

My necklace of pearls to Aunt Fawn, my Zachburg Broomwick novel, A Kindness Without Meanness to my daughter, and my Bible to my husband. God be with you always, my dears. I love you.

"I want to believe there will be light when my journey has ended." -Tatiana Romanov.

I love all of you

"Blest are they, the poor in spirit;

theirs is the kingdom of God.
Blest are they, full of sorrow,
they shall be consoled,

 Rejoice and be glad!
Blessed are you; holy are you!
Rejoice and be glad!
Yours is the Kingdom of God!"

Now, on to my second favorite hymn, Be Not Afraid:

"Be not afraid,

I go before you always,

Come follow me,

& I will give you rest.

"Blessed are your poor, for the kingdom shall be theirs.

Blest are you that weep and mourn, for one day you shall laugh.
And if wicked men insult and hate you all because of me, blessed, blessed are you!"

May He keep you always. I love you. May He keep you joyful and spread the Word.

Love, Mom

I can still remember when they sang hymns in Mass at Saint Matthew's. Beautiful hymns.

"Come, Rachael, it's time to leave. Father Jacob has already done last rites. Come, honey." Dad comforted, shocked and overwhelmed with grief himself. "She's in a better place now. He has called her up for a reason. We must make funeral preparations."

"Come on Rachael," Steven, my boyfriend, said. "I'll be here for you, don't worry."

"I know." I was overcome with grief. "God help us through this trying time we have upon us."

Then, Steven pulled me away from Mom, me shaking and trembling from grief, overwhelmed that I just lost my sweet and caring mother.

                                                                                       ***

I then listened to my mother's favorite hymns, just she had mentioned in the letter. I cried. I will always cry. But, knowing He is with me always, just like in Be Not Afraid, I know I can and I will make it through. With God, anything is possible. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. That's the verse I need to focus on. God has taken my mother, but He will show me the way through all this pain and grief. I know that with my family and my boyfriend, I can do anything,
