"I love you and that's the beginning and end of everything." -LoveQuotes.net.

Rachael then discovered another set of letters. I kept on seeing her, and listening to this song that has been echoing in my head the past few days:

Crouched down, on a rooftop
In my mothers high heeled shoes
I'm wondering if I will drop
And fly away with you

And I can smell the rain coming
But I won't leave until it falls
I'm gonna soak in its down pour
'Till I hear my mother's calls

[Chours]
'Cause I am playing god
I am raising...as far as I can tell
I am all alone
Alone in this world
Alone, with you

-"Rooftops" by Melissa McClelland.

Note: "..." means a curse word. I don't like using curse words in stories, nor do I like say them (with the exceptions of foreign language curse words. I know, weird, but that's who I am, and I'm not changing for anyone).

Another note: I got these lyrics from Genius.

I feel like...invading Dad's privacy, but I must find out what else he's been hiding from me, I thought, looking through the letters.

I found a packet of letters by someone named Joann Park. I'm still finding out things that Dad didn't know...that I was never told. I opened the letter:

May 9, 1920

Dear Chris,

I have taken Max Ferry with me to Kingdom Hearts, Wyoming. Don't look for me, for who knows, I might be dead while you're looking.

Take John this gift--

I opened the letter and was astonished: a New England wedding ring.

Wow, I thought, whoever this person is, she must be very rich.

A New England diamond wedding ring. It belonged to my grandmother. Take good care of it.

Yours, Joann Park

A few days later, I returned to school. Had a long talk with Ally:

"Hey, glad you're feeling better," Ally greeted me.

"Hi, me too," I responded.

"We have a History test on Civil Rights Movement, Cold War, and the modern age. We also have a Biology test on ecosystems on Wednesday. Are you writing this down?"

"Yes, hold on," I said. I read back to her:

Psychology: Unit V exam (take home), quiz on personality disorders on Friday,

History: Test on Friday on the Civil Rights Movement, Cold War, & the modern age,

Biology: Exam V Wednesday on ecosystems,

Math: Exam V on Monday (cumulative).

"Good. Want to get together and study? It's a lot of studying." Ally piped up.

"Of course, I need all the help I can get."

Just then, Robert texted me:

R: Ally told me u were @ school.

Y: Good, & u? Overwhelmed. Scratch the good. Extremely overwhelmed. Got a lot of make up work 2 do. Help me.

R: Of course I'll help you. We're in this together. As long as you help me w my French exam & studying for it.

Y: Sounds good.

I quickly replied to Abby, "Want to help me help Robert study for his French exam?"

"No, thanks, I'm good," Abby said, "Don't want to be third wheel."

"You won't be," I reassured. "Trust me."

"I have a lot of work to do. Plus, I got a new job."

"Where do you work?"

"Newman Doughnuts. They're so good."

"Oh, doughnuts?" That has a lot of calories, I thought, still thinking in my old ways.

"Why don't you come over about seven and I'll ask my boss, Mr. Phillips, for me to have a break a little earlier than normal."

"What times do you work?"

"Four to eight."

"I wish I had a job," I replied, feeling sheepish. "Then, I could buy Robert gifts. I feel like such a crappy girlfriend lately. He's been with me through everything, but I've never gotten him anything due to my treatment."

"Awe, honey, you'll find something. We'll go shopping Friday night."

"I'd like that."

Just then, Mr. Norman said, "Girls, quiet down, let's get back to Biology." Mr. Norman's our Biology teacher. He's tough. Ally and I walked in a few minutes late, and he gave us attention. "Especially you, Miss Winters." He stared right at me.

I sat quietly for the rest of the school day, then did my homework, had dinner, relaxed for a bit, and then, I went to sleep.

Another note: I finished my Biology final today and I'm still waiting for some grades to come in that class. I also have a Psychology and History final Friday, along with a cumulative final for Math on Monday. After that, I am done with junior year of college (3rd year in community college. Will transfer somewhere else next spring).
