Nicole yawned as she rolled over in bed as she looked at the empty space next to her where her fiancé should have been; she knew that Cristiano had an early training session and would be back in an hour or so.

The brunette lay quiet as she enjoyed the silence of the house, she glanced at the clock knowing that she’d have to get up soon; it had been a month since she had gotten engaged to Cristiano and the couple had been pretty content.

There was now just over a week until the holidays and Cristiano was excited about Antony’s first Christmas and the couple knew that this wasn’t going to be anything like the last one that they’d had.

They’d spent it apart with their families since they had only been dating a couple of months.

Nicole carefully climbed out of bed and headed for the nursery, she was wearing a grey jersey night slip with lace trim; the brunette was pleasantly surprised at how much her fiancé loved it when she wore something like what she was wearing.

“Buongiorno,” Nicole said with a smile as she picked up her son, she took every opportunity that she could to speak Italian with him; she spoke Spanish when she was with Cristiano, while he was also teaching their son Portuguese when she wasn’t around.

The couple had agreed that they wouldn’t deny Antony any chances in life and being bilingual would be a helpful in the future for him; plus with both of them speaking several languages he was bound to pick something up along the way.

“How’s my little boy?” Nicole asked as she cuddled Antony as the two dogs looked at her, she smiled as she walked out of the nursery and headed downstairs; she bounced the nine week old knowing that he was getting big and fast.

The brunette flipped through the morning post as she nibbled on her lip, she shook her head at several bills that had arrived and set them on the dining room table as her blue eyes stopped on a handwritten letter that had arrived.

Nicole brushed some hair from her face as she looked over at Antony who was sat in his bouncer, she smiled at him knowing that he was the best thing that could have happened to her and Cristiano; he was their blessing after all that had happened.

Turning her attention back to the letter, she carefully opened it wondering who it could be from, she wasn’t expecting any letters and she didn’t know anyone that would be spending her any.

The colour drained from Nicole’s face as she read the letter, she felt sick to her stomach wondering how he could have gotten her address; she started to shake as Kodiak and Toby started to bark as Cristiano came home.

“Coli?” Cristiano called as he bent down to stroke the dogs, he smiled unaware of the shock that his fiancée had just received; everything had been going so well for them lately that he didn’t think that anything could bring them down.

Nicole dropped the letter as she closed her eyes, she knew that Cristiano wasn’t going to be pleased to know that the man that had abducted her and planned to kill her was writing her letters.

“Nicole?” Cristiano asked as he spotted his fiancée, a feeling of dread took over as he looked at her; he didn’t know what it was but something had happened while he had been at training.

The footballer shot a quick glance at their son, he sighed relieved that he was okay before he moved to comfort his clearly distressed fiancée; he didn’t know what had happened but he hated to see her like this.

“Nicole what happened?” Cristiano demanded as he pulled her into his arms, she clutched at his top as she burst into tears; she couldn’t contain anything as she clung to him terrified.

The footballer frowned as he held her close before he spotted the letter that she had been reading, the brunette clung to him as he picked it up from the table and furrowed his brow as he read it over.

A curse furiously left his lips as he dropped the letter and held Nicole close to him, he glared at the letter as if it was the person himself in the room with them; Cristiano would never forgive Jesse Hudson for what he had done and he would never be able to forget that day.

“It’s okay… he’s in prison,” the footballer whispered as he tried to reassure Nicole and himself.

He didn’t know how Jesse had known where they lived now or how he had gotten information on their son but he swore to himself that he wasn’t going to allow the crazy American to steal his family for him.

“It’s okay amor,” Cristiano said knowing that he’d deal with his own emotions later, his main priority right that second was Nicole and he was going to make sure that she was okay.

Jesse had made her life a nightmare and now he was coming back to haunt her with a prison visitation letter.

“Gracias,” Nicole whispered as Cristiano handed her a coffee, he nodded his head as he sat on the couch next to her knowing that it had been a nasty shock for her; he had destroyed the letter then called his agent to make sure that no more arrived at their home.

The last thing the couple wanted right now was reminders of what had happened at the start of that year, it had been a rough time for them and Nicole had required therapy to stop the horrible nightmares that Jesse had caused.

“I won’t let him get to you or Antony… he’s going to stay in prison for a very long time,” Cristiano said as he thought about what he would do if Jesse ever made a reappearance in their lives.

The footballer didn’t care what he had to do to make sure that the American never came back even if it meant doing time.

Nicole sniffled and looked at her fiancé, she knew that Cristiano was serious and she was glad that he had come home when he had; she didn’t know what she would have done if he hadn’t.

The brunette carefully reached over and took her fiancé’s hand as it started to shake, she knew that he was just as affected as she was by the letter that Jesse had sent to her; she didn’t know why her ex-boyfriend had thought that she would want to see him after what he had done.

“I’m okay… it was just a horrible shock,” Nicole said as she pressed a kiss to his lips in an attempt to calm him, she smiled softly as he wrapped his arms around her and held her close; they had both suffered a lot after her abduction and they had hoped that it was in the past now.

Cristiano nodded his head, he didn’t know what Jesse hoped to achieved by sending her the letter but he knew that he wasn’t going to let the American ruin their first Christmas with their son; he wanted the holidays to be special for them and he was determined to make it so.

“Let’s forget about him… Jesse isn’t going to ruin our lives, not anymore,” the footballer said determined to put the past behind them, he knew that he would do anything to ensure that the American was forgotten from their lives; he was nothing more than a bad dream to them.

Nicole nodded her head as she pressed a kiss to his lips, she didn’t want to know why Jesse wanted to see her but she knew that she was never going to give him what he wanted; he had hurt her twice and he wouldn’t get the chance to do it again.
