Sarah did ask me once in private what it was that Beth said. I simply told her I really couldn't tell her, and it could hurt someone I love if I did. She nodded stiffly, probably wishing she could help, and said that she understood.

But she's cheered up, satisfied that I'm not dwelling over it and I can manage to crack jokes. She picks up the phone in our room then dials the room service number. While she's ordering all three of us food, I head into the bathroom to change out of my pajamas.

Feeling bold, I wear black high-waisted shorts along with a red crop-top. I put on a little bit of makeup, which means mascara and lipstick because I don't know anything else. Oops.

I slip on my flip-flops, glad to be putting them to use after an entire winter that's lasted way too many months.

"-and some pancakes with some syrup. Yes, bacon sounds great." Sarah pauses for a moment. "Okay, thanks. You too."

She smiles at my outfit. "Hell yeah, all the single ladies unite!"

"Get changed," I tell her, shaking my head. "We have a fun day planned, right? One that doesn't include you-know-who, right?"

She jumps up from the bed before collecting her clothes in her suitcase. "Yep. Especially after what his girlfriend said- which I still don't know by the way."

"You don't want to know." I head over to the giant window in our room, wanting to avoid her eyes before I spill.

I hear the faint click of the bathroom door closing behind me, and sigh in relief. Food should be ready in a little bit, especially since we ordered a lot. So I slip my keycard into my back pocket before leaving the room, knocking on the door next door.

I need to tell Jaxon. If I tell Sarah, I'm not sure she'll look at me the same way. Let's face it, I'm just a bomb waiting to explode and ruin her social life. If she isn't ready to tell me that she's gay, she won't handle Beth threatening to tell everyone.

The door opens. My heart immediately leaps at the sight of Jaxon. A towel is wrapped around his bottom half, hanging dangerously low on his hips. His abdomen is toned, complete with a V-line and one of my biggest weaknesses: pecks. Sucking in a quick breath, I force my eyes to meet his amber ones.

"Holy hell," He squirms awkwardly, the water droplets on his body glistening. "Um. Luce. Hullo."

I scratch the back of my neck. "Uh- hi. Can I... may I come in? I have something to tell you."

He opens the door wider, standing aside for me to walk in. I quickly do so, wiping the fact that our bodies almost brushed past each other from my mind. Serious matters, Luce. C'mon.

"So," I hug my arms to my chest, awkwardly turning around to face him. He watches me strangely. "What Beth said... I'm ready to tell you. But you cannot tell Sarah. Understood?"

Jaxon gestures for me to sit. I hesitantly sit down, again ignoring our closeness. "I'm listening." He reassures.

I avert my gaze to the tv instead. "She's blackmailing me. Beth wants me to stay away from Kaden... or else she'll tell everyone about Sarah's girlfriend."

When I look at him, he's staring at the floor, eyes concerned. "I didn't even know about it," I continue. "But I don't want to be the reason Sarah's coming out is ruined. So she can't know until I figure this out." I ramble on, worry evident in my shaking voice. Yet I'm so relieved he's the one I'm telling that to.

"Hey," He looks up, another strange look in his eyes. "It'll be fine. We'll figure something out."

We'll? "Okay," I breathe out, nodding. "Okay."
