Cess's face went completely red. She screamed. Fior took off his satchel, and batted at the flames. They spread up her arm, and she shook it furiously. Then she spotted the water fountain, and ran toward it.

Something weird happened then.

The water leaped out of the fountain.

And enveloped her arm.

And then it flew back to the water fountain.

Fior backed up in a hurry.

Ohmygodohmygodohmygod.

First Lai, and now THIS?!

Fior knew enough to recognize an ability.

He knew enough to recognize Hydrokinesis.

Cess paled visibly.

No one had seen....

But Fior.

"You can't say anything!" She screeched.

He continued to gape. And back away. Hiding Telepathy was bad enough.

But hiding an ability as powerful as Hydrokinesis?

That was something else entirely.

"It's not what it looks like!" She cried.

That was when something fell out of Cess's pocket.

Fior's hand flew to his mouth. That was his letter... His letter to Lai.

Why did she have it?!?!?

He was tempted to lunge for it. That was private information! He had to get it before she-

"YOU'RE A TELEPATH!?!?!?"

"NO!" He practically fainted.

"You ARE! And this letter is to LAI, isn't it?! I knew you liked her!"

Cess had forgotten all about the fact that Fior had seen the water.

And, more importantly, had seen her arms burn.

He turned his eyes up to the ceiling and flushed pink. "That's not important! We need to get you to Elwin! Your arms have got to be burned...."

He trailed off.

Her arms weren't burned in the least.

And that could only mean one thing.

The one forbidden talent.

The most dangerous.

And the fact that she had both...

Cess's abilities had to be tearing her apart.
