I Have The Time

Jack's Point Of View:
I just don't understand why Mckayla is so shy when it comes to telling Jazz and me her problems. Jazz has been trying so hard to pull her to The Talk Room but she won't listen. She keeps shutting us out, and I want to know why. I found her crying in class today but she wiped away the few tears that trickled down her cheek before anyone could notice. I did though.

"Mckayla!" I shout.

She turns to look at me for a few seconds but then turns around and keeps running to the bathroom. I know I shouldn't go into the girls bathroom but I care about Mckayla.

"Mckay-" I start to say before I see the horror in front of me.

She turns around with bloodshot eyes, tear stained cheeks, bruised lips, and knotted hair.

"Oh my god, what happened?" I ask frantically.

"A-Anna," she stutters.

"What did that snake do this time Mckayla?" I ask.

"It's a long story," she says.

"And I have the time," I reply.

She sighs before slumping down on the floor.

"Well Jerry and Anna ganged up on me," she cries. "Jerry made my lips swollen by pressing them tightly together so I couldn't scream, Anna was tying my hair in knots and laughing, and they said insults like I'm worthless and unwanted at this school."

"Mckayla," I manage to catch my breath.

"I'm sorry I wasted your time Jack," she mumbles.

"I told you I had the time to listen to you, the time wasn't wasted," I state.

"Thanks Jack," she says.

"You're welcome, I'm here and will always be here if you need me," I say before hugging her tightly.
