Mary's point of view:
I wonder who that man was. Probably a noble. He was very good looking. But nothing could happen between us. I'm marrying Francis. He can have mistresses but I can't. I went back to my chambers and got ready for the ball. I put on a white dress and my gold crown. Then I opened my door and saw Kenna and Greer standing outside. "Are you ready yet?" Greer asked "Well hello to you too" I said "And yes I'm ready" I added "Good we were getting bored" Kenna said as she linked arms with me "Are you nervous to see francis?" Greer asked "I guess so" I replied "Don't be. You'll be okay." Kenna said. I smiled at her then we walked into the ball room. It was decorated very beautifully. Flowers strung across the ceiling. It looked like a fairytale. I was looking for the man I saw in the woods. I don't know why. but I couldn't find him. I was sitting eating dinner with Cathrine, Henry, Kenna, Greer, Bash, Leith, and Olivia. Then I heard the announcer say, "All rise for Prince Francis of France." I looked up and saw the man from the woods. He looked at me like he was nervous.
Francis's point of view:
She's going to hate me. I'm such an idiot. Why did I lie to her? I went and sat down next to her. She looked so angry. "Hello Mary. It's nice to see you." I said "Francis. It's nice to see you too." She said. I smiled at her but she didn't smile back. "Or should I say John?" She whispered "I'm sorry" I whispered "Oh as long as your sorry it's fine" she said "really?" I asked "No! It is definitely not okay!" She said "What are you two whispering about?" Cathrine asked "Nothing" we said in unison. My parents looked confused. "Excuse me by I think I've lost my appetite." She said then sat up and walked away. "Excuse me" I said then Olivia grabbed my arm. "Francis where are you going?" She asked "No where" I said then pulled away from her and went after Mary. "Mary please just wait." I shouted "What?" She snapped "I'm sorry" I said "I don't care. You lied to me. That will forever be my first impression of you." She said "And its doesn't help that you told me that I'm going to 'tie you down'" she added "Mary I don't know what to say." I said "Well your mistress sure had a lot to say about you." She said "You talked to Olivia?" I asked shaking my head "Yes I did. She wouldn't shut up about you two and how strong of a relationship you have. And how she sleeps in your chambers every night" she said "Not every night" I said "Oh my God Your actually stupid. I'm leaving." She said then turned around. She's right. I am stupid. "Wait don't leave. This is your ball try to go and enjoy it. I will leave." I said "What so you can go and sleep with Olivia? I don't think so. Your staying right here with me." She said. She really does hate me. "Okay whatever you want me to do I will." I said "You can stop acting like you want to be with me." She said "Maybe I do want to be with you." I said "Francis stop. It's not fair to me. You can come say those words to me when they actually mean something to you." She said. She's right again. I can't just play games with her. "lets just go in" I said "Fine" she replied. Then we walked in and sat back down. "Is everyone okay?" Cathrine asked "Were fine" Mary smiled. Then she sat down and sat down next to her and I was in the middle of her and Olivia. Great. "I have a surprise for you later" Olivia whispered in my ear "No" I said "What do you mean no?" She nearly yelled. Everyone at the table went silent. "Olivia. We will talk about this later. Just don't come to my chambers tonight." I whispered "Fine" she said then threw her wine glass on the ground "Jesus Christ what are you doing?" I said "I'm leaving" she screamed then stormed out. "Oh my God. I'm sorry." I said. Everyone nodded their heads. It was very awkward after that. Then music started playing and everyone started dancing. "Would you like to dance?" I asked "Seriously?" She asked "Yes seriously" I said "Okay sure." She said "Wait really?" I asked "Yeah" she said "Okay" I held my hand out. She held it and we walked to the dance floor. "Are you still mad at me?" I asked "Yes." She said. I sighed. "But less now." She slightly a smiled "Why?" I asked "Because you told Olivia not to come to your chambers" she said "Oh. Good." I smiled. Then we continued to dance. She laid her head on my chest. It felt nice. I moved my hand further down her waist and she didn't object or stop me. I don't know why I cared so much if she was mad at me. This morning I could have cared less but now that I met her. I don't know it's just different now. Then the song ended. Mary smiled at me then walked back to Greer and Kenna. Then my cousin, Condé, went over to her and they started talking. She was giggling uncontrollably. What could possibly be so funny? I hate Condé. He's an asshole. There were rumors awhile ago that he raped a woman. But his family hid it. I think he did. They started dancing. I walked over and interrupted them. "Mary my father called us over to his table." I said "Oh okay." Mary said then backed away from Condé "No Mary I want to finish our dance." He said with his grip tight on her wrist. "Condé she doesn't want to, let go of her." I said "Fine, we can dance at the next ball." He said "I don't think so." She said then turned around and walked with me. "Francis what does your father want?" She asked "Nothing you just looks a little uncomfortable." I said "Oh, thank you." She said "Of course." I replied then but my hand on her waist and she put her hand where mine was. It was kind of like she was trying to hold it or be flirtatious. We walked back over to my fathers table and sat down. "Mary! Francis! Are you guys having fun?" My father asked "Yes we are." Mary smiled. I like her smile. "Was Condé hurting you?" I asked "No. Well yes, but I'm fine." She said "Let me know if he bothers you again I will take care of it." I said "And how exactly will you take care of it?" She smiled "I just will." I smiled and touch her hand, she held it back. "Mary"  "Yes?" She asked "I was wondering if we could talk about Olivia" the happy look on her face faded and she pulled her hand away. "Not here, we can go for a walk." She said "Like old times." I said "Um old times? Francis that was this morning and don't forget that walk isn't a pleasant memory." She gave me a dirty look then stood up and started walking towards the door, I followed behind her and we walked towards the gardens. "Okay here is good." She said "Why couldn't we just talk in the castle? It's cold out here." I said "Do you think I want people to hear us having a conversation about your mistress?" She asked "No." I replied "And Francis it's the middle of the summer how are you cold?" She said "I don't I just am." I said "Okay what do you want to say about Olivia?" She asked "I know you think Olivia is bloody crazy, and she really is. But I mean since you left she has been a distraction for me." I said "What do you mean a distraction?" She asked "After you left I was really sad, I couldn't eat or sleep I would just think about you all the time. And when my father introduced me to Olivia, as a mistress, I didn't want to be sad anymore so I took her as my mistress." I said "Oh, well I'm sorry I caused you so much pain." She said "No it's wasn't you, it's just I loved you, I really did and when you left it broke my heart." I said "You loved me?" She asked "Um yes, yes I did." I said "Oh" she said "But the point of this conversation is I don't want to be with Olivia, in that way anymore." I said "In what way?" She asked "In a relationship, like I don't want her to be my mistress anymore, I want you to." I said "You want me to be your mistress?" She laughed "No, not like that. I mean I want to try to have a relationship with you." I said "Okay." She said "Okay?" I asked "Okay I would like to have a relationship too." She said "Oh okay." I said. We kind of just stood there for a few minutes. "Well I should be getting to bed." She said "I will walk you to your chambers." I said "Okay." She said "Okay." I replied then we walked to her chambers. "These are my chambers." She said then opened the door, I went to step in behind her but she turned around and stopped me. "Francis if we're going to have a relationship we need to get one thing straight, I'm not like Olivia and I'm not ready to have sex with you before marriage which would mean staking my entire reputation." She said "I know I understand, I don't want you to ruin your reputation." I said "And by the way I didn't think we were going to have sex. Tonight at least." I said "Tonight at least?" She giggled "I can be very charming." I smiled "Take your charm back to your bedroom." She giggled then closed the door. "Goodnight" I said "Goodnight Francis." She said softly through the door. I sat with my back to her door smiling. I heard her humming while she got ready for bed. She sounded so peaceful. I heard the humming stop and the door opened then I fell on my back. "What are still doing put here?" She giggled "I heard you humming and sounded to peaceful so I sat here and listened." I said, she smiled then helped me up. "If I was You I would have been sleeping." She said "Sleep is over rated." I said "Sleep is amazing. I love to lay in my bed." She giggled, I smiled the pressed her against the door and kissed her. She pulled away and smiled. "Goodnight for really this time." She said "Goodnight." I said then kissed her again. "Go back to your chambers." She smiled "Okay I will." I smiled "Okay" she smiled then closed the door.
