Rieka is now in her third trimester and the whole family is helping her out, everyone was excited for the babies to come. Jacob had been busying himself in the two new nurseries, he had emptied out the two spare rooms upstairs and converted them into nurseries. Thankfully (to him and Rieka) he hadn't made one bright blue and the other bright pink, he wasn't one to enforce gender stereotypes or anything like that. Jacob had kept the dark wooden floors and plain walls but had added white cribs and various baby toys, books, stuffed toys, and necessities around the rooms which brightened them up.

Joseph would often visit and assist Jacob, taking over when the Soldier had to go and keep up with his busy schedule. John would occasionally help but when he visited it was usually to keep Rieka company while Jacob and Joseph worked on the nurseries, since Jacob wouldn't let Rieka lift a finger. Faith would also visit and keep Rieka company while Jacob was at work.

"So Rieka, how are the appointments going?" John asked as he sat down on the sofa beside.

"Everything is fine but they would go smoother if Jacob stopped scaring the doctor" Rieka joked, earning a playful glare from Jacob.

"Maybe if he stopped treating us like idiots, I would go easier on him" the Soldier shrugged, earning a small laugh from his younger brother.

"He is just trying to help" Rieka laughed as well, shaking her head.

"Have you thought of any names yet?" John asked with a smile.

"We aren't sure yet. For the boy we are thinking Julian or Connor" Rieka said. Her and Jacob had been talking about baby names and had asked for advice from the family but still couldn't quite decide. Faith thought that it would be cute if their son's name began with a 'J' just like his father and uncles. However while talking to Jacob, him and Rieka quite liked the name 'Connor'. Joseph had also suggested the name 'Noah' for their son.

"And for the girl we are thinking Grace, Evelyn or Abigail at the moment" Jacob finished for her. Joseph was the one who suggested the name 'Eve', after Adam and Eve, he also liked the name. Jacob thought about it and actually found himself liking the name 'Evelyn' but he also like the name Abigail, meaning a father's joy which she certainly would be.

"I still think that you should call your son John" the youngest brother shrugged, smiling to himself.

"We are not naming our son after you" Jacob rolled his eyes, chuckling at his brother. The Soldier has lost count of how many times he has told his brother that.

"At least he will have the same surname as you" Rieka laughed, nudging John's arm slightly.

"I suppose" he grumbled and crossed his arms before laughing along with the Jacob and Rieka. "Why are you thinking about those names anyway?" John asked curiously.

"Well Julian is a strong name for a leader and Connor comes from Old Irish for Wolf. Abigail means 'a father's joy', Evelyn was Joseph's suggestion and Grace was Faith's suggestion" Jacob explained, he would admit that he did put quite a lot of thought into what he is naming his children.

"Old Irish? How do you know anything about Old Irish?" John asked, looking at his brother in utter confusion.

"He has been doing his research" Rieka laughed, making Jacob shrug and roll his eyes while John laughed lightly. He loved seeing his brother care so much about something.

"Well, if it means anything, I like the names Connor and Grace" John shrugged.

"Well we definitely won't use those names then" Jacob teased, making John huff and frown.

"Don't worry, he is just joking. Your opinion means a lot" Rieka chuckled, patting John's shoulder and shaking her head at Jacob.

"Well I better be going, want to get back to the ranch before it gets dark" John smiled before standing up. He said his goodbyes to Rieka and Jacob before leaving the cabin and driving away.

Jacob sighed as he switched seats, sitting down right beside Rieka and wrapping his arm around her shoulders. "Are you scared?" Rieka asked quietly as she rubbed her stomach gently.

"No" Jacob shrugged and they fell into a silence. "Are you?" he asked, realisation hitting him as he looked down at her.

"A little bit. No matter how many times the doctor explains things, I still don't know what to expect" she sighed, rested her head on Jacob's shoulder.

"You are going to do great, I know you will" Jacob assured her, rubbing her arm in a comforting way.

"Are you really not scared at all?" she asked again, wondering if she was the only one feeling like this.

"...I'm not scared about the birth, I know that you will be perfectly fine...but I am worried about being a father. As you know, I am not the most...affectionate and comforting person. How am I meant to have children?" Jacob sighed and opened up. Of course he was scared, he is a Solider, for so long he just felt like a machine. He was worried about being a good father but he knew that he was not going to being like his parents

"I think that you are amazing, and I know that you will be amazing with our children. You are going to make sure that they are always safe, I know that, it's what you do. They will love you" she promised him, looking up with a smile. Jacob lean down and placed her lingering kiss on her lips, which she happily returned before they both pulled away.

"When they are teenagers, they are going to hate both of us" Jacob joked, pulled her against him and she rested her head on his shoulder again.

"If they are anything like you, the arguments will tear the house down" Rieka commented and they both let out small laughs.

They both fell into a comfortable silence until Jacob placed his large hand on her round stomach, rubbing gentle circles as he hummed the tune of "Only You".
