CHAPTER EIGHT

EVERYONE IS STILL STARING AT THE NEWLY IMPRINTED COUPLES, BELLA IS THE ONE TO SNAP THEM OUT OF IT WHEN SHE RUSHES TOWARDS JACOB AND HUGS HIM.

"Jake, thank god you're okay." Her face buried in his chest. Jacob awkwardly looks down at her, not knowing what to do.

Ingrid looks towards her little sister who has a hurt expression so she speeds towards the human and rips her away from him, pushing her into Edward's direction.

Jacob gives her a thankful look and walks towards his imprint, silently asking her if she's okay. She nods with a hint of a smile while Jacob gazes at her softly.

While Jacob and Rebekah stand closely together, Leah and Klaus are just looking at each other anxiously. They have both been hurt and have trust issues, making them wary of each other. Ingrid has had enough of the hesitant glances and decides once again to take matters into her own hands. She sneakily makes her way towards Leah and pushes her in her twins direction, making him use his vampire speed to catch Leah before she falls. They both look at the meddling hybrid who innocently smiles and winks at their accusing gazes.

Katerina laughs at her friend while she snuggles into Embry, enjoying his warmth.

The others who watch the display of Ingrid internally giggle at her interfering, all except the Swan girl who glares at the blonde vampire who is unknowingly holding hands with her Jake. Rebekah can feel someone's eyes burning holes into her and sees Bella's blatant dislike of her, so Rebekah being Rebekah bluntly questions her. "Is there a reason you're glaring me?" She narrows her eyes.

The Cullens and the wolves observe the exchange, wondering the same thing themselves. Klaus, Ingrid, and Kat just look on in amusement.

Bella curls her lip in hostility. "You're here not even five minutes and you have your hands all over him. You're nothing but a slut."

The Cullens are shocked by her behavior while the wolves are furious. No one dares to speak that way to an imprint. Katerina is also left wide-eyed at her behavior Is she trying to get herself killed?!, she thinks.

Jacob starts to shake in anger but calms once Rebekah squeezes his hand. He looks to her and her expression is one of worry, not for him or herself but for Bella. Out of all of her siblings, she was always closest to Nik and Ingrid and they had always been protective of her. She removes her gaze from the human and analyzes her siblings.

The once amused aspects on their faces have faded and all that remained were blank looks. The blankness on their features made Rebekah anxious, she looked into their eyes and saw nothing but fury.

Ingrid is the first to speak. "You dare say that to my sister." Her voice void of all emotions, it was so cold that even Klaus shivered. She glares at Bella who flinched. "I suggest you take that back."

Bella attempts to appear unaffected by Ingrid and says the stupidest thing that might get her killed. "No." As soon as the words left her mouth, she immediately regretted it.

Ingrid sped towards her, but before she could reach her, Edward jumped in the way and threw her to the left. Klaus and Rebekah quickly sped towards her, helping her up. The three of them glimpsed at Edward darkly, their vampire and hybrid features surfacing.

Edward looks at Ingrid. "You're here to protect her, not attack her!" He grits his teeth. She laughs. "Protect her? You're not too bright, are you?" She moves to make her way to Paul, whom she hadn't seen since before the fight. He opens his arms waiting to hug her, but Edward blocks her way.

Everyone watches the interaction, wondering if they should step in.

"Move."

"No. Where were you yesterday?! You were meant to be with us at the campsite!"

"I'm not your lap dog." She moves to make another move towards Paul yet Edward blocks her again.

"You're here to protect Bella." He bares his teeth at her.

Ingrid blinks at him pursing her lips.

She grabs his neck and speeds him against a tree, slamming him against it and holding him up. Edward retaliates by grabbing her neck, trying to squeeze it, but Ingrid's annoyed expression doesn't falter. She grabs his hand and pulls it away like it's nothing and bends it backward, hearing the creaking of his marble skin as he yells in pain. She tightens the hold on his neck, cracks appearing.

"You young vampires, so arrogant." She throws his hand back down to his side. "How dare you let your human insult my sister, you even have the gall to challenge me."

"You won't kill me, Carlisle's your friend. He won't forgive you." He manages to say. Carlisle looks at his adopted son in disappointment, shaking his head along with the other Cullens.

Ingrid slightly raises an eyebrow, thinking that Edward and Bella are perfect for each other, they're both self-centered. "Silence."

She holds out a hand and Kat instantly pulls away from Embry and finds a small branch, throwing it to Ingrid. Katerina had learned many years ago that her best friend, although most likely the more merciful Original sibling, being the twin of Klaus obviously meant that she would have the tendencies to enjoy torture.

Ingrid catches the branch and stabs it into Edward's neck with force, his marble skin chipping around it. He loudly groans in agony trying to remove it. She drops him to the ground and steps away from the tree, watching him, when Bella runs up to him helping to take out the small branch. They pull it out together and Edward holds his neck in pain.

Before Ingrid walks over to Paul she says, "I am an Original. Show a little respect." She makes her way to the shifter, embracing him tightly.

"The wolves need to leave, the Volturi are almost here. They can't know about them." Alice informs once everyone has gotten over their shock.

Sam nods. "Alright, let's go."

Following their alpha's command, the wolves begin to leave. Paul gives Ingrid a quick kiss on the lips before following.

"Kat, Nik, Bekah, go with them," Ingrid says to her siblings and best friend. Before they can object, she continues. "If they see three Originals, they will grow nervous and start to monitor this area, therefore, finding out about the wolves. Nik, Bekah, go get to know them and Kat, I don't think I even need to say it."

Kat gives Ingrid a broad smile, hugging her, then heads off in the direction Embry went as Klaus and Rebekah follow her, giving into their sister's words.
