FIFTEEN ૐ BABY DAY OUT

MONTGOMERY PULLED UP HIS CAR at the Connelly's front yard 30 minutes early before the time they agreed he would come. He couldn't contain his excitement to spend time with Grayson and most especially with Olivia.

Elizabeth was the one who answered the door and her eyebrows raised up in surprise to see him come so early when he was always known to be a few minutes late. She smiled. "Oh, uh, hey Montgomery. I didn't expect you to come early."

"Yeah, I couldn't wait to see them." Montgomery nervously chuckled and Elizabeth stepped aside to let him in but not after whispering to him quietly as a warning. "Just a heads up, Dad's here. Goodluck."

Montgomery gulped. It was not something that the de la Cruz boy doesn't know; that Michael Connelly never liked him. He had always like Justin instead of him and Olivia didn't know how it affected him so much to know that in the eyes of her father, Justin would always be best.

What did Justin Foley have that Montgomery de la Cruz didn't?

Elizabeth led him to the living room where Michael sits at the couch with Owen sitting by his foot and Dom sprawled next to him, asleep. Harriet's at his other side, cooing at Grayson sat on her lap. Michael Connelly's blue eyes sweeps across the room and landed upon him and a scowl formed immediately formed in his face. He nudged his wife gently and Harriet looked up to see the father of her grandson.

She sends him a delighted smile and stood up slowly, careful not to drop Grayson and approached his awkwardly standing figure by the doorway. "It's great to see you, Montgomery."

While Michael has a strong dislike against the boy, Harriet, however, was quite the opposite.

"Olivia, Monty's here already!" Elizabeth yelled over the kitchen and Michael finally stood up, striding in menacingly towards him and Harriet puts a hand out to stop him.

She whispered. "Michael, do this some other time, will you? Let the boy have his peace for now."

Michael angrily backs down, knowing he would only wage a war against his wife that he knew he would never win. Olivia comes out from the kitchen and blue eyes meets green, her eyes taking in the scene laid out right before her. Olivia must've noticed her Mom holding her Dad back from her former boyfriend and subconsciously, she stands in front of him protectively just like she always did before whenever her Dad would gang up on him.

His heart fluttered as he recognized the gesture, a warm sensation worming its way from his neck up to his face.

"We'll get going now." Olivia declared and Harriet hands Grayson over to her. Elizabeth passed the bag full of baby essentials to Montgomery and winked at him, mouthing 'Win her back.'
