Wonder What He Needs

The next day, when V checked her phone, she saw she had 38 missed calls from Colt.

 Better see what he wants.

She pressed the call back button and waited.

He answered on the third ring, “V?”

She kept her voice cool, “What do you want, Colton?”

“I need to talk to you. Can you come see me?”

She snorted, “Why the hell should I?”

Colt pleaded on the other line, “Please, V. It’s important.”

V sighed, “Fine.”

She heard him expel a breath, “Thank you. Meet me at the gym by my house? Say an hour?”

“Okay,” she agreed then ended the call.

She got out of bed and went to the bathroom to get ready. She then went downstairs to eat. After washing the dishes, she called up the stairs, “Sin, Stone!”

When both boys came down the stairs half naked in sleep mussed hair, she told them, “I’m going out.”

“Where?” Stone asked.

“Why?” Sin questioned.

She rolled her eyes. Even at 21, they were protective. She said, irritated, “I’m going to Hal’s gym to meet up with Colt.”

Sin narrowed his eyes, “Are you sure that’s wise, Invidia?”

V shrugged making her brothers roll their eyes. She could see what they thought but she didn’t have time for a lecture right now. She waved her hand, “I’ll be fine.”

Sin and Stone still looked skeptical but it was Stone who broke the tension, “Well, be careful.”

Both boys moved in to hug her and each give her a peck on the cheek.

She smiled at them, “I will, thanks.” She returned their pecks on the cheek and headed out for the door. Before she could climb into her car, she called out, “I love you guys!”

Sin and Stone stood by the door and watched V drive away, “Love you too!”

V drove around town and 5 minutes before their agreed time, she drove towards the gym. Colton walked through the doors of Hal’s gym just in time. He wore his usual ripped jeans, combat boots, and black shirt. His blonde hair was messed, probably from the wind outside. She stood up as he stopped right in front of her

V went straight to the point, “What do you want, Colton?”

He grabbed her by the elbow and steered her toward the boxing room.

When he released her, he looked directly into her eyes and said, “I want you back, V.”
