Chapter 14

Betty
Wednesday

I was getting my books from my locker when Ethel reached me smiling.

"Hey thanks for yesterday."She said and I nodded smiling.

"He deserved it."I said.

We started walking through the hallway.

"My dad told me to stay away from the Serpents,they're angry today because they fought yesterday,Jughead Jones and some other guy."She said and I stopped walking and looked at the wall to see a poster talking about contamination. "I know right?Contamination is getting worse every day."

"Did they get very hurt?"I asked talking about the fight.

She looked at me confused.

"The Serpents."I said.

"Oh I don't know."She said. "Why?"

I ignored her question and started walking fast,looking for Jug.

I walked to his locker and he wasn't there,then I walked to were the Serpents usually were but he wasn't there either.

Relax Betty,he's strong,he's gonna be okay.

I walked back to my locker and saw Jughead resting his back on it.

When he saw me he half smiled and I started walking faster towards him.

He was gonna say something but I cut him off kissing him.

"Are you okay?"I asked pulling away.

"Why wouldn't I?"He asked.

"Ethel told me about your fight."I said.

"Who's Ethel?"He asked.

"Jug don't change the subject."I said and he sighed. "You almost give me a heart attack."

He smiled. "I'm okay Betts."

We started walking together. "What was the fight for?"I asked.

"Oh nothing important,Sweet Pea was a bit annoyed yesterday."He said. "I'm okay."

The bell rang and I turned to him and put my hands around his neck. "See you later?"I said and he smiled and nodded.

At lunch V and I sat with the girls from the last day.

"Betty what was wrong with the Serpent fight?"Ethel asked. "Why did you leave?"

"I was worried about Jughead,"I said and they looked at me confused,except Veronica.

"And...Why?"Jessie asked.

"He's her boyfriend."V said smiling at me.

"Wait,Jughead?"Ethel asked and I nodded.

"Man,he's hot."Lili said and I looked at her with a disgusting face,Why was she saying that?

"I don't mean I want him,I'm just saying he's hot."She said and I slowly nodded.

That was weird and disgusting.

When school was over for the day I walked outside with V.

"Hey meet me at Pop's at four?"She asked and I nodded smiling.

She quickly ran to where Archie was,and they started flirting and making out.

That could have been me two years ago,I could have been the girl kissing him,but now I had someone better.

My thoughts were cut when I saw Jughead walking towards me.

"Are you okay?"He asked.

"Sorry,I zoned out."I said.

He smiled. "You looked cute."

"You know there's this girl named Lili,she thinks you're hot."I said.

"Don't you think so?"He asked putting his hands on my cheeks.

"I mean yes,but,you know,I'm dating you,she can't say that."I said.

He smiled. "Don't worry Betty." And kissed me.

When we pulled away his hands were still on my cheeks and I held one of them.

"Jug come on!"Toni yelled mad.

He looked at her and then back at me.

"Go"I said rolling my eyes making his smile turn into a smirk.

He squeezed my hand and walked with Toni.

When I walked in the Whyte Wyrm I started looking for Sweet Pea.

I saw him drinking in the distance and at walked towards him.

"What do you want."He said rudely.

"You have to help us with the black hood,that was the deal"I said.

"Look I'm just gonna tell you what I know,but I'm not gonna get involved."He said. "I saw the black hood the other day and he was fighting with your blonde."

"Betty."I said.

"Whatever."He said. "I saw them and I ran away,oh and I saw him this afternoon,before coming here."

"What was he doing?"I asked.

"He jumped inside a house,like climbed to a window and walked in"He said.

"How's the house?"I asked.

"Um,it's white,and it haves a black roof."He said.

Wait.Was that...

"And a red door."He said.

Betty's house.

"That's all".He said.

I stood up and walked outside as fast as possible.

I got on my motorcycle and drove to Betty's.

I knocked,nothing,I knocked again,nothing.

Shit,shit,shit.

"Jug?"I heard from behind and I saw Betty confused. "What are you doing here?I was at Pop's with Veronica."

"Betty open the door,quickly."I said.

"What?"She asked still confused.

"Open."I said.

She took her keys out of her purse and opened the door.

"Were your parent home?"I asked.

"No"She said and I sighed in relief.

"What's going on."She said.

"It's the black hood,Sweet Pea saw him coming in."I said.

"What?!"She said.

We started walking upstairs,well,running upstairs.

We walked in Betty's room to see everything okay,but there was a box and a nite on her bed.

"Jug?"She asked grabbing the box as I took the letter.

"To my dearest friends,Jughead and Betty."

She also read it and slowly opened the box.

Suddenly she threw it to the floor and a human finger fell from it.

She looked at me with horror on her eyes,and I'm sure she saw it on mines too.
