Chapter 16

Betty

On Tuesday at biology,I was sitting next to Kevin.

"Hey."He whispered to me.

"What?"I whispered back.

"Can we meet before lunch at the janitors closet?"he asked.

"Kev,I'm not making out with you."I whispered confused.

"It's not for that dummie."He said. "I know some things."

I nodded and kept listening to mrs.Kelly.

"Hey."Veronica said as she reached my locker while I grabbed the books for the next class.

"Hi."I said.

"Um,can you tell Jughead we're sorry?"She asked.

"Why don't you."I asked rudely.

"Please B,he doesn't want to listen to us."

I sighed. "Okay"

"Thanks a lot.."She said.

"But you guys know it isn't his dad right?"I asked.

"Yeah of course."She said.

"Okay."I said and walked away to find Jug.

I looked back at her and saw her whispering something to Archie and him saying. "Did she believe it?"

That was the fifth time she lied to me since Monday.

I started containing my tears.

"Hey Betts."Jug said smiling. "Whoa what's wrong?"

"Jug they're hiding something to us."I said starting to cry.

"Wait."He said and opened the Blue and Gold room.

It was empty,so we walked in and he locked the door.

"What do you mean?"He asked holding my hands.

"Veronica,she's lying to me a lot since yesterday,today she told me she was sorry for what happened at Pop's,and now she's telling me that she believes you,but one moment later I see Archie asking her if I believed it."I said breaking down.

He hugged me and his smell and warmth comforted me and made me feel butterflies.

"It's gonna be okay,Betty."He said. "You have me."

"Why is she lying to me?"I asked. "Why can't she just tell me the truth,is like I can't hang out with her anymore"

"Betty,Relax,it will all come back to normal,okay?"He asked. "Trust me"

I nodded.

"And you can hang out with me."He said.

"Jug I can't talk about fashion with you."I said smiling.

"Excuse me?This beanie is trending topic!"He said making me laugh still with sorrow on my face.

"I'll come over after school okay?"He asked and I nodded.

"Okay."I said.

I grabbed his jacket pulling him closer,and he kissed my forehead while hugging me.

Before lunch I remembered what Kevin told me and I walked to the janitors closet.

I walked in and he stood up. "Finally."He said and I smiled rolling my eyes.

"Well,my dad on Friday saw the black hood in a public high at Greendale."He said. "He cut a student's finger and feet."

"How?!"I asked concerned knowing the finger from the box was his.

"He slept him."Kevin said. "He's at the hospital right now."

I nodded. "Thanks for telling me."

"Are you gonna tell Jughead?"He asked.

"Yeah,Why?"I asked confused.

"My dad doesn't like him,and he told me not to tell this to anyone."He said.

"Kevin I'm not having this conversation Okay?"I asked and he nodded.

Jughead and I were in my room sitting on my bed.

"Okay so."Jug said when I ended explaining it to him. "He's been in Southside High,Greendale High,And almost in Riverdale High."

"Almost?He was in the football field."I said. "Remember?"

"Yeah,but that wasn't what he wanted Betty,he was about to walk in the High but we stopped him"He said.

"Do you think he wants to get in?"I asked.

"Probably"he said.

I looked at the map we had with circles pointing every place the Black Hood Gad been at. "Do you think all of this is related?"

"I don't know."He said putting the map away."But why don't we take a break?"

I smiled and sighed. "You're right,this is driving me crazy."

"Yeah?"He asked getting closer.

"Mhm"I said and leaned in to connect our lips.

Just then mom walked in. "How are you guys doi-oh"

We quickly pulled back.

"Mom!"I said annoyed.

"Okay!"She said walking outside and closing the door.

I looked at Jughead and he laughed.

"You know she's controlling us."I said.

"Yeah I'm sure."He said making me smile.

Suddenly he received a message.

"Hey I gotta go."He said standing up.

"What's wrong?"I asked.

"Some old friends are at the Whyte Wyrm."He said annoyed. "Don't worry,they always come for Jingle Jangle."

"Are you sure?"I asked.

"Betty,I'm a Serpent,relax,I know how to deal with them"He said grabbing his things.

"Okay see you tomorrow?"I asked.

"Yeah.See you!"He yelled running downstairs.
