It was quarter to 6. I lazily got up from the sofa and slowly walked up the stairs to my bedroom.
"I should get ready," I told myself. I opened my wardrobe. "What the-"
All my clothes were lying in a huge pile and Jackie was sitting on top of all this mess, innocently looking me in the eyes.
"Jackie!" I exclaimed in shock. She quickly scrambled out of my wardrobe and jumped on my bed. She then got under the covers and stayed there silently.
I must have left the door open in the morning, I thought to myself as I cleared up the mess and sorted out my clothes. I looked at the clock on my wall, which said 6.12.
I took out my phone from my pocket and called Kevin.
"Hey Ellie," he greeted me in a cheerful tone.
"Hi, uh, I'm sorry I can't go to the movies."
"Why not?"
"Not really feeling up to it."
"Have you got period cramps or something?"
I rolled my eyes. "Uh, yeah... yeah, totally." His question reminded me that I haven't had my period for a while. Eh, I'll think about that later.
"Alright. I'll go laugh at the silly commercials myself."
"I'm sorry."
"It's fine. See ya." He hung up.
I climbed into bed and slept until the morning.
