"It doesn't matter. You were right anyways," Draco spoke in a low and dangerous voice.

He had been thinking about her words for days. She was right. It didn't matter that he hadn't killed in cold blood. It didn't matter that he had killed to bring the victims mercy. He had still killed them, took ther life away. He really was a killer.

"What? No. I have always been right in my life, but this is one of the rare times I'm not," She stated.

"You were right, Granger. I'm a killer," He said with a small smile which ended up looking like a grimace. "I took lives. I'm not better than Voldemort."

"No. Luna said that they asked you to kill them. You did nothing wrong," Hermione scolded. She hated the fact that she had made someone think of themselves as a killer, even if it was Malfoy.

"Granger, stop." He sighed, "We both know it. Them asking for me to kill them plays no part. I still did it."

"But Malfoy-"

"No." He stated placing a finger against her lips to silence her, "Don't try to change my mind, it won't work."

Draco felt her purse her lips and retracted his hand. He thought he had won, for now at least. Spinning around on his heel, Draco started to walk off. He was thrown back around to face Hermione, and then pushed agaisnt the wall.

Hermione had risen on her tip toes she she was eye level with him. One hand was against his shouldet keeping him in place while she used the other hand to point a finger accusingly at him.

"You listen here, Malfoy. My brain was being controlled by something three days ago. I did not purposefully mean to get that ridiculous idea that you're some cold blooded murderer in your head. So, you are going to forget about it. You did those people a favor when you killed them. It saved them a lot of pain, and their families were grateful when Luna told them that you had spared them a slow and painful death. You, Draco Malfoy, are not a killer and if I ever hear you say that again I will hex you all the way to bloody mars!" Hermione growled, jabbing her finger into his chest multiple times.

She then dropped back onto her heels, becoming flat footed again. She brushed her hands together a couple times before leaving. Draco stood frozen, wide eyed. He would be lying if he said that he wasn't terrified of her.

'Don't think about it. She is not scary, she is a muggleborn.' He scolded himself before rushing after her.

. . . . .

The first week of classes finished quickly. Before the students knew it, the weekend had arrived and the Sunday hogsmeade trip had started. Blaise was rushing around his room.

"Who would've thought that a date with a Hufflepuff would get you this much adrenaline," Draco chuckled.

The ferret boy was lying on his bed and reading a book. Draco, however, had abandoned the book long ago to watch Blaise frantically rush around the room. What good was being best mates if they didn't make fun of each other?

"Shut up, Draco. I really like her," Blaide mumbled hopping on one foot as he put his other shoe on.

"So, Abbott. You truly like her," Draco grinned cheekily.

"Now your just making fun of me," Blaise glared.

"Well, your girl is down the stairs waiting for you. I'd say you need to hurry up but she's probably chatting with Granger and Weasley. At least it will give you time to put on a shirt that isn't covered in chocolate," Draco chuckled.

Blaise glanced down at the white shirt he was wearing. There was a chocolate frog stain down the front of it. He cursed loudly and scrambled around looking for another shirt.

He found one peeking out from underneath the bed. It was green and clean, at least he thought so. Blaise ran a comb through his hair as fast as he could and brushed his teeth just as fast.

He was about to grab his jacket when an owl began tapping furiously on the window. Blaise opened it and looked out. The owl was a deep black color with raven colored eyes. It yellow talons and a shinung beak.

"Is it yours?" Blaise asked turning to his friend.

Draco shook his head. "I've never seen it."

Blaise pursed his lips and detached the letter from the owl's leg. He gave it a sickle in the leather pouch and, after the owl glared at him, fed it a treat. The owl hooted in thanks and flew out the window.

Blaise opened it quickly and read out loud.

Dear boys,

The Ministry has finally finished the hearings in your fathers. Boys, I am deeply sorry for the both of you. They were roped into Voldemort 's evil plans and now they have to pay. We're safe from it. Nick's taking our sentences as well.

Nick has been charged with five years in Azkaban. He's also doing an additional three years for Annise and three for Narcissa. In total, eleven years.

"Blaise, why didn't my father take mums sentence?" Draco asked.

Blaise read the rest silently and didn't answer. "Blaise," Draco sais loudly. The Italian glanced apolohetically at his friend before finishing.

Lucius has been given one year in Azkaban followrd by the Dementor's kiss. Draco, I am so so sorry. We tried to fight, we really did. But we just couldn't win.

I'm so sorry boys, both of you. Keep your heads down and don't get into any trouble. We love you not deeply.

- Your mums.

Draco stayed frozen. Yes, Lucius hadn't been an amazing father. But he had been there for him. It wasnt always the best, but Lucius was the one who taught him how to ride a broom and use the potty like a big boy. He was something, and now he was going to be gone.

"Draco, I'm so sor - "

"Don't. We can't do anything about it. You have it worse anyways. Maddie and Marcus won't have a father now. Annise is going to need you now," Draco said dryly.

"Okay." Blaise nodded. He knew when to and not to push Draco. "Well, we have a Hogsmeade trip to get to."

Draco nodded and srpung of the bed. The two boys were about to start opening the door when a screaming from below caused them to freeze.

"Blaise, get down here right now!" Hannah's voice came flying up the stairs.

Blaise whipped out his wand and sprinted out of the room. He ran down the stairs at lightning speed. He was going so fast, that he ended up crashing straight into Hermione.

"Sorry!" He exclaimed extending his left hand to help her up.

Hermione took his left hand in her left and allowed the Slytherin to pull her up. As soon as the were standing, both froze. Hermione and Blaise were each staring at the others hand in pure shock. Blaise was breathing heavily as he slowly looked up.

"Maya?"
