You Don't Know The Half Of It

Fp POV:
"I'm sorry I totally ruined the moment didn't I" she says nuzzling into my chest.
"No your fine, I just want you to feel safe" I reply holding her tighter to me. I don't blame her, after all she's been through it's a miracle she's this okay.
"Your lucky Betty didn't turn the lights on" she mumbles.
"Yeah that could have gone badly" I reply already feeling her breathing get heavier meaning she's falling asleep.
"Night beautiful" I say and she hums in return to tried to give me a real reply.
I fall asleep somewhat after her only to be awoken to my phone buzzing next to me. Usually I'm a heavy sleeper but now that this whole serpent business is on my mind I haven't let myself sleep properly in days.
I pick it up quickly so it won't wake her up. She tucked into my side using my chest as a pillow.
I sigh as I answer the phone.
"Fp, get to the warehouse I need one of those favours" she says. I swear this woman never sleeps.
"Can't this Wait?" I whisper.
"Unless the middle of the day suits you and you know that's the worst time for a delivery" she replies and I know she's right.
"Fine, I'll be there in 10" I sigh hanging up the phone and gently sliding Alice off me. She clings on to my shoulders a little but I brush her hand off freeing me of her grasp. At least she's safe here unlike when I have to leave her at my trailer. I do hate to leave her especially after the episode we just had, I'm suppose to be making her feel safe but I can't guarantee I can be their for her because of this mess the serpents are in.
I sneak out her window using the tree next to it as a platform to get me closer to the ground making the jump somewhat safe and head to the warehouse.

Alice POV:
I feel a breeze hit me and the warmth from underneath me is no longer present meaning he's gone. I open my eyes to confirm. Then my eyes fall to the clock which heads 4 am so it's not like he went so Betty didn't find us because he would have left later than this.
Of course me being me can only find one explanation for this.
There's another woman, or gladice is back. What else would it be?
Whatever it is I'll confront him because I need to know. Anyway I can't sleep without him so I make an extra early start on my day.

Fp POV:
As soon as I finish the delivery, this time it all goes smoothly, I head to the sight to start my shift.
"Fp your early" Fred says patting me on he shoulder as I walk into the trailer.
"Yeah I had some business to attend to" I reply and he knows I mean serpent stuff.
"Be careful with that business of yours" he reminds me and I nod knowing he's only interested in my safety.
"I'm sure Alice hates all that stuff you have to do" he comments and my face must have said it all because he reads me like a book.
"She doesn't know does she?" He asks giving me the whole 'I'm disappointed in you face'.
"No she doesn't but that's for the best, I lost her because of the serpents once I will not let it happen again" I reply a little to strongly but he gets it. He remembers how hard I took it back then.
"Well you know what your doing but don't hurt her Fp, she's been through enough" he warns me.
"I won't" I assure him and he relaxes a little.
We get to work and I decide after we are done that I am going to surprise her at work today so I head to the register straight after.

Alice POV:
The bell on the register door rings and I look up to see Fp, straight from work by the looks of it because he's wearing jeans and his shirt is slung over his shoulder.
"Hey beautiful" he says sweetly and I push my glasses up my nose and return to work.
"Alice" he says waiting for a reply but I'm mad at him right now.
"Oh I see, what did I do?" He sighs taking a seat in front of me like a child ready to be told off. I continue to ignore him anyway.
"Alice" he whines shutting my laptop making me sigh and take my glasses off.
"What?" I say bluntly brushing his hand of my laptop.
"Tell me what I did" he says and for some reason I am now telling him.
"You left me in the middle of the night" I complain.
"I'm sorry I needed to be home at least one morning for Jug" he explains and I don't completely buy it.
"Fp is there another woman, please just tell me. Rip the bandaid off" I blurt standing up and taking some papers over to another pile as a way of stress cleaning I guess.
"Hey, alice theres is not and will never be another woman" he assures me coming up behind me and holding my waist making me release the breath I had been holding.
"Really?" I say turning around to him face him so his hands hold mine.
"Yes alice, I know your not ready to say it and that's fine with me but I hope your ready to hear it. I love you, I'm not going anywhere" he promises squeezing my hands lightly and placing a kiss on my forehead. For some reason i don't feel weird about hearing it. We both knew it and it's not like he hadn't said it before so i let my face soften and go on my tiptoes to kiss him.
"Better not" I warn him melting into the embrace.
"Stay at mine tonight? Jugs at Archie's" he offers and I nod instantly not wanting a repeat of Betty walking in again.
"Betty can have Veronica around so she's not alone I'll tell her I'm in another business trip but that excuse is going to get old really quickly" I reply calling Betty straight away to ask her and sure enough she's more than happy to oblige.
We head to the trailer and although I should hate it, I mean it's always gets freezing cold when we wake up in the morning and I can hear everything going on outside but I actually love his cozy little trailer. Mostly because I'm alway there with him, it's like a little safe place for me I guess.
We go straight to be both tired from getting up so early and I close my eyes enjoying his warmth under me. We are both completely nude because that's how we like to sleep. Skin on skin. It completely contradicts the freezing temperature of the trailer that is almost as cold as the outside but we keep each other warm.
His phone starts to buzz waking me up from me half sleep I was drifting into but I keep my eyes closed nuzzling further into him hoping to go back into my sleep.
"Yeah I'll be right over" he sighs gaining my attention.
He carefully slides out from underneath me and I can hear him put some clothes on.
He kisses me on my forehead softly and whispers gently,
"I'll be right back, I love you"
At this point I'm far from sleeping, in fact my only concern right now is finding out where he's going.
I wait for the trailer door to shut and slip my clothes back on quickly followed by the only shoes I have, plain black heels before unlocking the door with a spare key I knew he would have hid in the drawer next to the doors and heading outside to follow home. The crisp air is colder than I anticipated and my lavender cardigan hardly helps.
I ignore all my senses instead forcing my eyes to follow his trucks headlights. I don't recognise the path they are going down and as much as I want to know where he's going, I don't want to die in the process so I go to the only place I could think of that would have any idea where he is going. The Wyrm.
I must admit walking through the southside at night is scarier than I remember. Especially since I stick out like a sore thumb in my northside outfit.

I go into the Wyrm and my eyes fall to hogeye at the bar before looking across he bar to see countless serpents sleeping and playing card games.
Hogeye flashes me wide eyes and rushes over to me taking me into the little storage room so no one could see me.
"Alice, what are you doing here?" He asks obviously concerned.
"Why are there serpents sleeping on the floor?" I ask stupidly not able to contain my curiosity.
"They needed a place to stay, the ghoulies practically destroyed most of their homes" he explains.
"Oh my god the serpents are really in trouble this time" I say wondering if this had anything to do with Fps constant disappearing.
"You don't even know the half of it. Anyway you didn't answer my question what are you doing here?" He asks and I ready my questions I need to ask him.
