The Readers Words (Part 2)

(Sofia pov)

I sipped on my Dr.Pepper as we watched the Incredibles 2. Keith and Skylar were sitting right next to me eating. I looked at my watch making sure I was cautious of time. School is over at 3 o'clock. The buses leave at 3:25 and us teachers are standing outside to wave goodbye.

Good thing the movie only has ten minutes left because It's 2:25, so I'll have time to get everyone situated and make sure I get my hugs. "Miss Sofia?" Skylar caught my attention. "Yes baby?" "Can we give you goodbye gifts?" She asked. I looked at her, "It's the last day baby, I won't see you guys after this." I said.

She shook her head, "We all brought gifts for you. Because you're the best teacher." She said. I looked up and saw all of the kids watching me, waiting on a answer. "I mean if you brought one, sure." All of the kids got up and ran to their bags. "So y'all don't wanna finish the movie?" I questioned. "It's ok we want to give you your gifts." Taylor said as he sat beside me with hia gift. I smiled and placed my hand over my heart. This is so incredibly sweet.

I opened the last gift which was from Ramona. I smiled seeing a scrapbook from all of the pictures my class toom this year."You guys are gonna make me cry. Thank you all so much." I said wiping my tears. "Give me hugs babies." I said and they all came around and squeezed me. "I'm gonna miss you miss Sofia." Daniel said, everyone nodded agreeing with him.

Moments like this makes me happy, that I became a teacher. Daniel was so quiet and stayed to himself and away from everyone in the beginning of the year and now he's one of the moat outspoken kids I have. I kissed his cheek. "I'm gonna miss you guys too. But whenever you see me, even if it's 30 years from now and I'm all old and wrinkly, you can always come say hey to me. Okay?" I told them laughing. "Now, let's clean up before you all go."

(Keith's pov)

I buckled Skylar in before making sure it was tight enough. "Keith, do you ever see any of your old teachers?" She asked. I nodded, "Sometimes, remember I don't live in Sacramento anymore so it's hard to see them. But every once in a while I see them." I said.

"I hope I always see miss Sofia. She'll always be my favorite." She said wiping her tears. I kissed her cheek before looking behind me seeing miss Sofia walking to her car. "Wanna go say bye one last time?" I asked. She nodded and somehow slid out of her seat belt.

"Miss Sofia! Wait!" She yelled running to her. The woman turned and smiled at Skylar. Skylar hugged her as tight as she could. "Miss Sofia, what about my mentoring. Are you still gonna mentor me?" Skylar asked. Sofia nodded, "If you want me to." Skylar squeaked, "I mean duh why wouldn't I?" She replied.

"Ok, here." Sofia got a piece of paper and a pen, "Here's my number. Call me when you get home on someones phone that I can always call and talk to you on. Okay? She instructed. Skylar nodded,"Okay and I can call you whenever?" She questioned. "Whenever you want to. I'll always answer. Pinky promise." She said holding out her pinky. They locked pinkies and hugged before Skylar made her way back to me.

I waved at Sofia, "Have a good night." I called out. "You too, it was nice meeting you." She said before getting in her car and pulling off. "You can call her from my phone when we get home." I said. "But I thought you said you were going home tomorrow." Skylar said. "Nah, I think I'll spend the summer down here." I said getting in.

[The next morning]

I rolled over hearing Skylar's light snoring. I looked at my phone beside her and saw her teacher sleeping. They must have fell asleep on facetime last night. Once 12 am hit, I was out. Sofia looked just as beautiful with her makeup off. Her skin looked flawless with the sun beaming on it.

I need to stop, I feel like a creep watching someone sleep on my phone. I got up and walked to the bathroom to pee. I washed my face, brushed my teeth and tightened my durag before walking back into my room. I saw Skylar saying goodbye to her teacher. "Say bye to miss Sofia Keke." She said shoving the phone in my face. Sofia's big brown eyes were the first thing I saw besides her lips curve into a smile. "Goodbye miss Sofia." I said before she returned the gesture. I hung up and glared at Skylar.

"Don't look at me like that stinky. She's coming at 2, so get dressed." Skylar said getting out of bed. "I have to get dressed?" I asked. Skylar nodded, "I asked if you could come and she said yes, so go soak in the tub because as much as you were farting in your sleep, you probably have a couple of streaks." She said.

"You need to stop hanging around Kaylan and her friends...Did Sofia hear?" Skylar nodded, "They were loud farts." She said before walking out. I silently cursed before going in my dresser, looking for an outfit for the day.

2 o'clock came around slow as hell. I was waiting on it for what seemed like forever. A soft knock at the door got me out of bed. I walked downstairs and saw my mom hugging Sofia. She had on a orange, short romper that looked good on her. "Keith, this is-" "We met yesterday. I spent the day with Sky at school." I said. "Cut me off again lil boy." My mom said. I apologized before she called for Skylar.

She came running downstairs with her little purse and somehow it seemed like all three of us some what matched. I wore a orange shirt, skylar wore a orange maxi dress, and Sofia and her orange."Awe you all are matching." My mom pointed out. "This was not planned." Sofia said. "Get together let me take a picture. This is too cute." She said getting her phone and taking a couple of pictures.

"We'll be back later mama." I said. She waved me off. "Take your time with them Sofia, that way they'll be too tired to come back and wrestle." She said. I shook my head. "Why don't we take my car?" I said pulling out my keys. They both followed me to my Jeep. "Have you eaten yet?" I asked once we got inside. "No. I was gonna get something on the way." Sofia said.

"I know a great place. If you haven't been, you'll love it. Trust me." I said pulling off. "Should I trust him Sky?" Sofia asked. "I mean I personally don't but since he likes you, I think he'll be doing the most to impress you." Skylar said. I looked at her before looking back at the road. "Don't mind her Sofia, she just talking." I said trying to covee my ass. "It's fine." She said laughing.

I can't believe Skylar just threw me under the bus like that. Dang it be your own family. I got something for her though, her birthday coming up soon too. Bet. But Sofia said it's fine so does that mean she's ok with me liking her or is she saying ok as in she knows Skylar juat be talking shit?
