Chapter 2

Sophies POV

Shawn led me to his room at the end of the hall. When I entered the room he closed the door and I sat down on his second bed. Since Shawn arrived and checked in late, he had a room to himself. He pulled his guitar from his bedside and loosely strummed a few strings,

"Can I play you something I came up with earlier?" he said looking over at me.

"Oh yeah sure I'd love to hear it!" I stuttered.

Shawn strummed a few chords and began singing,

I love it when you just don't care

I love it when you dance like there's nobody there

So when it gets hard, don't be afraid

Let them all go home, we out late

"So thats all I've got so far, what do you think?" Shawn said putting his guitar down.

I was speechless, Cam told me Shawn was good but he was amazing.

"Soph, was it bad?" he asked me.

"No no, sorry I'm just speechless you're so good and the song's great!" I said.

"You think so? Thanks." He smiled

"Yeah.." I said, it was starting to get kind of awkward so I said,

"It's getting late, Mahogany will be wondering where I am."

"Oh yeah sure" Shawn said walking towards the door and opening it. He walked with me down the hall to my room and before I entered I turned to Shawn,

"And I'd love to hear the rest of the song when it's completed." I said.

Shawn smiled, "of course, I'd love for you to hear it." he said before hugging me goodnight and walking back to his room.

I walked into mine and Mahogany's room, Mahogany turned to look at me,

"Where have you been I was looking everywhere for you?" she asked me.

"I couldn't get in because you had the key so I was looking all around the hotel for you!" I lied.

"Oh okay well you should get some sleep, Magcon starts tomorrow." she said.

I changed into my pj's and climbed into my bed.

The next morning

I woke up, took a shower and got ready to go down for breakfast. I walked into the lobby with Mahogany to eat breakfast in the cafe. I took a seat across the table from Shawn, I was talking to Nash who was sitting right next to me. During the meal I noticed Shawn kept glancing over at me, I realized I was staring back so I quickly looked away hoping him or no one else saw. After the meal I was walking to the restroom when Shawn caught up with me,

"Hey do you wanna go get ice cream before Magcon?" he asked me.

"Um yeah sure me and Mahogany are going to get our nails done but I can meet you after." I replied.

Wait did Shawn Mendes just ask me on a date?

"Okay meet me at the entrance of the hotel at 2 and we can walk over it's just down the street." Shawn said before jogging over to the elevator.

I looked at my phone and it was only 11am which meant I still had time to get my nails done and prepare for Magcon before I met up with Shawn.

3 hours later

I was finishing up my eyeliner when I got a reminder on my phone saying it was 2pm. I grabbed my purse and made my way down to the lobby to see that Shawn was already standing in the entrance waiting for me.

"Hey" I said walking towards Shawn.

He turned around look at me,

"Hey, you look really nice" he said scratching the back of his neck.

"Thanks" I blushed.

It was getting awkward before Shawn cleared his throat and asked,

"Are you ready to go?"

"Yeah" I replied as we walked across the street.

At the ice cream shop, Shawn and I were looking at all the flavors when he said,

"What are you getting?

"Cookie dough how about you?"

"Me too, it's my favorite." he said.

"Wow we've got so much in common" I joked.

After we got our ice cream, we took our seats.

As we were eating Shawn was laughing to himself, I looked up,

"What are you laughing at?" I asked.

"Oh nothing, it's just you have ice cream on your nose."

I covered my face, going to grab a napkin to wipe it off, when my phone buzzed in my pocket, I pulled it out to see a notification from Instagram '@shawnmendes mentioned you in a post.' I unlocked it to see a picture of me with the ice cream on my nose.

"You're a jerk" I laughed.

He laughed along.

After we ate we made our way back to the hotel across the street, we were talking and laughing about different things. When we arrived back at the hotel we said bye to each other and I went up to my room to get ready for Magcon which started in about an hour.
