Roller Coaster/First Date

Heart racing as I wait for my turn

The gates open and I find my seat

As I buckle up my stomach starts to churn

Hoping it's not so scary I turn white as a sheet

Heart racing as I finally ask her on a date

Being able to get all the words out is quite a feat

Holding my breath that she will agree to eight

Praying as I ask, I'm not white as a sheet

All buckled in it is time for the ride to begin

The workers complete their final checks

Even through the nervousness I start to grin

Knowing in a minute I will be in a vortex

At the restaurant, let the date begin

Conversation is slowly getting complex

But I cannot help but to grin

It's going so well I think about future prospects

Up the hill and moving very slowly

Building up lots of anticipation

Excitement is the feeling being felt, mostly

It is too late now for any hesitation

This may be the start of no longer feeling lonely

Building up lots of anticipation

Excitement is the feeling being felt, mostly

It is too late now for any hesitation

At the crest now of the hill

As we start on the downward ride

It is a truly amazing thrill

My screams I cannot hide

This date with her is a dream fulfilled

For so long I have wanted to try

It is a truly amazing thrill

The screams of joy inside my head I try to hide

I'm screaming now as we reach top speed

Holding on with all my strength

This is the best feeling I have to concede

I cannot remember this rides length

The walk to the door I am filled with a longing need

I no longer want to keep her at arm's length

This is the best feeling I have to concede

We are on the same wavelength

The rest of the ride is nothing but a blur

Up and down, round and round

I am hoping these feelings will reoccur

Now that the coaster is slowing down

The start of the first kiss is nothing but a blur

Leaning in I can feel my heart pound

I am hoping these feelings will reoccur

As we kiss everything stops, I can't hear a sound

The coaster pulls in to a final stop

It is time to unbuckle and step out

Walking gingerly away I am praying I don't drop

This was the ride of a lifetime, there is no doubt

As the kiss ends, the world, I am atop

I cannot wait for the next time we can hangout

Walking gingerly away I am praying I don't drop

This was the date of a lifetime there is no doubt
