A/N: I can't sleep, okay?
...
It's not long before we're completely surrounded by the five men, though notably two are still shaking in fear of Yu. They must know his past before becoming my familiar, or they've crossed paths with him in the past, and both are equally terrifying as hell.
"Let's we make this simple and easy for all of us," Mr. Insanity, as I'm going to call him from now on until I know his real name, proposes. "Just surrender and this will be quick and painless. If not, then we'll just numb either your emotions, or your body- whichever one hurts.
"Where are the other god and goddesses?" I demand, though not really expecting a truthful answer.
"They're physically fine. Mentally," he lifts his hands and a shoulders in a gesture saying he's not sure. In reality, he knows just how well they're doing. They must be worried about their familiars, and could possibly be damaged in one way or another if it's been a considerable amount of time since they were kidnapped and brought here against their will. I know I would, which is another con to giving in, if I were separated from Yu. Over the amount of time we've been together, he's been a real friend when I'm in need and has become someone important. Hell, just yesterday he asked to be my family. Well, I suggested it, but it still happened, nonetheless.
"Goddammit!" I burst out. "How long have they been here for? And who was it in Hell that we saw?" Now I'm pissed. Whoever these people think they are, they better have a fucking god backing them up, because I'm about to kill them ever so slowly and painfully. I don't have many people who I value as friends, and so if you mess with them, I am a force to be reckoned with, and damn deadly one at that.
"I said that I'd show you a taste of what they-"
"I don't want to be another victim of your insanity. I want them free. Now!"
Mr. Insanity only chuckles as he lifts his hand, a signal for someone to do something. His fingers curl into a fist, and I hear the gunshot as I find the man with the gun. He's on the stairs that lead into the wall behind us, but I never noticed him before because he was cloaked by shadows. Expecting to feel a bullet piercing through my flesh by a special metal designed to kill or seriously wound a god, Yu instead collapses into my arms that are ready to catch him, and I realize that I was never the target.
"Don't worry," the sniper begins to say, walking down from the steps of the stairs as I am rendered unable to fight back now that I have Yu in my arms. "He's not going to die. That was a Silver Bloom, as I call it. It will knock him unconscious but his wound will still heal. Now, hand him over, Shindo."
"And come quietly with us."
...
It all happened too quick. One minute I'm standing beside Yuichiro ready to kill these men for me, and the next, I'm holding him in my arms. And the second after that, he's taken away from me as I, too, am knocked out, though the old fashioned way. And then, present time, I wake up in a disgustingly gray toned room with dim lights on the ceiling and one of the walls is not a wall, but a row of bars. This is not a room; this is a cell, and I am not the only one within it.
Krul, Mitsuba, and Yoichi are here, and god do they look horrible. Their hair is unbrushed, unnaturally wavy and tangled, and they each have worn and tired looks on their faces. Krul and Mitsuba are wearing similar plain white dresses that barely reach their knees, and Yoichi and I have matching attires of a plain white T-shirt and matching pants that are quite loose around my legs. My gods, this has gotten out of hand.
