POV: Angelo
I wait downstairs with Aletta for her boyfriend to arrive.
For some reason I don't feel comfortable with Aletta waiting outside in the street by herself at night. And I want to meat this little fucker- I uhh mean, that I want to see what Travis- I mean Tristan-or is it Tony-anyways this guy is like.
Aletta's phone pings and she takes it out of her black purse.
I watch as her expression turns solemn and disappointed.
"Tyler can't make it. He says he's ill." She almost murmurs. Her eyes glaze over and she continues speaking. "It's our 6 month anniversary. We'd been planning tonight for weeks."
My heart feels heavy watching her becoming so sad, and before I can connect my mouth to my brain my lips begin to move."Maybe you could go visit him, I don't know, to like see if he's okay and still celebrate the anniversary?" I ask, just trying to make her happy again.
I'm shocked by what I said. Why is it that this girl always makes me say things without thinking?
As if on queue I start talking again.
"I can drop you there if you'd like?".Damn you brain, why don't you connect yourself to my mouth. Do your job properly!
"R-really? You'd do that for me?" She sniffles as a tear spills down her cheek.
"I'd move mountains just to see you smile." I say, deadly serious as I wipe away her tear away with my thumb.
Her soft skin makes my hand tingle, but the sensation is so addictive, so sensational.I didn't mean to say that, but I don't regret it one bit. It's the truth. I'd do anything just for her.
"Thank you." She whispers, circling her hands around my torso.
I automatically wrap my hands around her shoulders and she rests her cheek on my chest."How will I ever thank you? You've been so generous and kind to me." She says looking me in the eyes.
"Don't worry about it love." I say and her signature beautiful smile appears on her lips. Gosh I missed her smile.
We drive in a comfortable silence, Aletta giving me the odd direction every now and then.
We pull up outside a rather large house, quite a similar size to Alex and Bella's house. Aletta embraces me into a warm hug before hopping out of the car.
"Hold on." I say while pulling out a small piece of paper and a pen.
I scribble my mobile number down and hand her the note. "Call me if you need anything." I tell her and she nods saying thank you.
She skips up to the house and uses the spare key to unlock the house door. She said she wanted to surprise her boyfriend.
As soon as she's inside, I pull out of the drive and head down the road. I don't feel like going home so I just drive through the empty roads, puddles of yellow from lamp posts being the only light surrounding me, other than a couple of glowing shop windows.
I've only been driving about 10 minutes when my phone starts ringing.
It's an unknown number so I pick it up slightly confused. On the other side all I can hear is sobbing.
"Hello? Hello?!" I say repeatedly attempting to understand what's going on."A-Ang-Angelo." The voice is hoarse and muffled by sobs. I could recognise that voice anywhere - Aletta!
I instantly press my foot down on the gas and speed back to the house where I dropped Aletta, not even bothering to hang up the phone.
