*** THREE YEARS LATER***
POV: Angelo
"Happy Anniversary, Love" I say, as I place a tray with a plate of toast with strawberry jam and olives on the bedside table, besides a glass of tomato juice.
I lean over and kiss my beautiful wife on the forehead as she smiles and flutters open her eyelids.
"Good morning, honey" She says sleepily.
Aletta moves her arms to her side to push herself up into a sitting position causing me to quickly move to her and tell her to stop.
"Stop! You should take it more easy. You might hurt the baby like that!" I say panicked while holding her shoulders but she laughs and continues what she is doing.
"Don't worry, our son/daughter will be fine! Now pass me the toast, it looks delicious!!" She says while licking her lips and I laugh, still bewildered by the odd meal.
"Are you sure this is what you wanted? I mean olives and jam don't usually go very well..."
Since Aletta's pregnancy, she has had very bizarre eating habits and every time she asks me for something it is rather odd. Despite the weird concoctions which she requests, she always wolfs them down as if just served her the most amazing meal ever.
"Of course! Now pass me! I'm hungryyy!" She wines so I hand her the tray and sit besides her on the bed.
"Do vwo wachnt sum?" She asks between mouthfuls and I recoil at the thought of strawberry flavoured olives and softly reply no thanks.
She doesn't bother answering and finishes the rest almost in an instant. Once she finishes, she sits back and rests her hand s on her stomach.
I hold her hand and tell her that I have a gift for her.
I head over to my side of the wardrobe and pull out a black velvet box with a rose and a ribbon tied around it.
I head back outside and see her with a navy blue box in her hands. She's still in the exact same position as before which astounds me as I have no idea how she got hold of that box.
"I got you something too." She smiles and reaches out the box for me to take.
I reseat myself besides her and we exchange gifts. I watch her open her present before I do so myself because I want to see her expression.
She unties the ribbon and inside is a small locket in the shape of a heart with silver spirals and diamonds dotted about. On the back there is some fine lettering engraved which she reads aloud.
"As our family begins so does our adventure."
She smiles warmly as a tear forms at her eye. She looks up at me and hugs me as tight as she can.
"Thank you so much! I absolutely love it! I love you Angelo." She smiles as the tear escapes her eye.
"I'm not crying it's the hormones." She excuses after.
I smile at her comment and return with "I love you too, love. And you too munchkin." I tell both my wife and baby.
She opens the locket and inside there is already a picture of the two of us on our wedding day. There are another three spaces in the locket, as it is almost like a book with a section in the middle for an additional two pictures.
