What are the Quarterly Awards? I don't remember them from last season.
To highlight our reviewers who may not have won a spotlight but provide excellent reviews just the same, we will be publishing the Quarterly Awards.
Cool. What are the categories?
✮ Perfect Attendance (no late reviews, no MIAs, no hiatuses during quarter)
✮ Early Bird (reviews submitted for all chapters within first 5 days of a round)
✮ Grammar Guru (grammatical suggestions)
✮ Warm Fuzzy (kindest reviews even if negative points presented)
✮ Pro Plotter (plot recommendations)
✮ Dialogue Dissector (dialogue advice)
✮ Captain Hook (hook [beginning or ending] suggestions)
✮ Descriptive Dribbler (description recommendations)
✮ Character Charmer (character-building advice)
✮ Master Wordsmith (literary devices and phrasing instruction)
✮Monarch of Action (action/tension suggestions)
✮Heart Wrencher (emotion recommendations)
✮ Puppet Master (mystery/intrigue advice)
✮ World Builder Bobby (world building recommendations)
So, what do I get if I win one of these awards?
✮ Bragging rights
✮ A lovely sash
✮ Shout-out from the #NBR account
✮ Newsletter mention
✮ A free pass for one round on the fourth book (round of winner's choice) (one pass per member)
Who's going to nominate me?
✮ The authors whose books you commented on.
✮ After each round, the spotlight authors will complete a survey, which will include nominating members for these awards based on the members' critiques on their spotlight book.
✮ Exception: the statistician will identify the winners of the Perfect Attendance and Early Bird awards.
Everyone is eligible for nomination?
✮ Yes, everyone who has participated in at least 6 rounds that quarter.
✮NOTE: If you win first-place in the spotlight chapter, you won't be eligible to be nominated for one of these rewards for that particular chapter.
What if I earn every award?
You'll win the ✮Shining Star✮ award.
✮ Bragging rights
✮ Exclusive #NBR Shining Star sash
✮ An extra spotlight
✮ Shout-out on the NBR wall
✮ Article in the Spotlight Newsletter
✮ Free pass on the fourth spotlight book for every round for the following quarter except when there is a Champion Reviewer round.
