'One of the hardest thing in life,
Is letting go of what
You thought was real..'

Taylor's POV

"You should take your mask off, it's getting hot in here."

I felt my throat drying up and I could literally hear my own heartbeat. I glanced at Luke who was looking back at me with his curious jade green eyes, he had made himself cozy on the couch. All hell would break if I take off my mask. My hands were becoming sweaty and I felt my heart beating more faster.

"Mr. Adelson, What are you doing here?" Scarlet entered the room and I let go off the breath that I was holding in. In that moment I wanted to do nothing but hug Scarlet for saving me from the devil himself.

"I was just keeping company to your Star Of The Night." Luke shot me a smile which he thought was charming before turning to look back at Scarlet.

"Well Mr.Robinson is looking for you. He said it's something urgent." Scarlet informed and Luke looked disappointed but got up from the couch and started approaching me, my eyes widen a little and I refused to step back like I was tempting to do so.
When Luke was close enough, he held out his hand towards me, "It was nice to meet you in person, Juliet." Luke said in a raspy voice and I let go off the table edge I was holding and placed my hand in his in a shake but he had other plans as he took my hand to his mouth and kissed the back of my hand. His lips felt a little chappy against my hand and I closed my eyes momentarily. Stopping myself from both snatching my hand away as well as from reminiscing the same gesture he did in past, many times.

"Likewise." I replied briefly and he let go off my hand which was tingling a little, He gave me one last smile before walking out of the room after bidding farewell with Scarlet as well.

"That was close." Scarlet said the moment Luke was out of the door. I nodded while running a hand through my red wig, I still couldn't find my voice as the possiblities of what could have happened if Luke had figured it was me.

I had told Scarlet about the whole Luke thing and she promised to help me avoid him as much as I could. "Why was he here tonight?" I asked Scarlet once my anxiety were in a little control. I hurriedly continued to pack my stuff. She promised to not let Lucas visit on the nights I would perform.

"I don't know.. I thought he was coming tomorrow but he personally called me and asked me about your show which was today. That explains why he was here." Scarlet answered while sipping the glass of wine she had presented herself with from the mini fridge by the couch.

"Fuck." I cursed under my breath, he so wasn't going to let me go that easily. I didn't even understand why he was so into 'Juliet'. She was just another dancer in this club.

"I don't understand. Why can't I simply remind him that you are not for 'Sale'?" Scarlet air quoted the word 'Sale' with one hand while her other hand held the wine glass.

"Because he loves challenges."

Taylor's POV

"No! That isn't a excuse!" I yelled at Luke in frustration while throwing the pillow on the couch down on the floor close to where he was standing with an equally frustrated look because apparently I was not 'understanding' him.

I didn't even know what to feel first, sadness, anger, hurt, frustration or annoyance. These days it was hard to tell. I didn't know if it was my 'pregnancy hormones' like Luke says or if it was Luke's changing behavior that was causing it. It was too late to figure it out. I had moved in with Luke to his New York apartment as he had planned. I was almost four months pregnant. We were far away from Nashville, my father and my home. The only thing I was missing about Nashville was the my mother's grave where I would spend my time when I was too sad.
