LETS GO ON AN ADVENTUREI WOKE UP to Noah tapping my shoulder. I groaned as I hid my face into the pillow, listening to Noah laugh lightly at me. Yelping at the sudden sharp feeling running up one side of my body, I tried to squirm away from Noah as he tried to tickle me.
"Wake up asshole" he muttered playfully, chucking as I swatted for him. With a groan I raised my head to glare at the boy. I never was a morning person. He smiled warmly at me, "You gotta get up Tuck, we're meeting the run group today"
I nodded at the news, glad that I was allowed to tag along with them. Pushing myself to a stand, I let the blanket I was using pool to my feet. Most of us were up already, Carol in the kitchen cooking something. I sniffed and frowned at the familiar smell of coffee.
Stepping up to the kitchen island, I reached out to grab a mug of coffee. Suddenly Carol turned from the stove, slapping my hand before I could grab it. I yelped and drew my hand back, scowling at the woman in confusion. She raised an eyebrow, pointing towards my room.
"Go get changed into some clean clothes, then you can have coffee" she ordered sternly. I scoffed but obliged and trudged towards my room, I really wanted mug of coffee.

After getting ready and finally being let to have some coffee, the four of us on the run team left the house. We walked together, slightly behind Tara and Glenn as we made our way to where we'd been told to meet. Noah linked our fingers together, the usual way we held hands, as he spoke lightly about random things. I didn't really reply or contribute, I didn't want to. Just hearing him happily go on was all I wanted to hear.
Two men walked towards us, meeting us in front of smaller looking houses. One of them were Nicholas from the gate, looking less terrified but still jumpy. The other man I hadn't seen before, the way he held himself was off. I didn't trust him.
"Glenn, Tara, Noah, Tucker?" He pointed to each of us as he guessed our names, Glenn nodding to tell him he was correct. "Nice to meet you. I'm Aiden."
Maybe I'd tensed up or something as Noah glanced at me, silently asking if I was okay. I nodded discretely but that didn't stop his frown. Something about the two men in front of us rubbed me the wrong way. These men weren't trust worthy and most definitely fucking pussies.
"You met Nicholas pulling gate duty." Aiden motioned to Nicholas behind him, the man smiling and raising his hand awkwardly to wave at us.
"Hey." The others nodded their heads back at Nicholas, smiling politely whilst I didn't do anything. Keeping my expression closed and void of emotion.
Nicholas' smile hesitated slightly when he looked at me, Noah noticing and gently kicking me. I looked at Noah, sighing when he widened his eyes at me. I was being an asshole. Plastering the best fake smile I could, I looked back at Nicholas before back at Noah. I rolled my eyes when he nodded.
"You're Deanna's son?" Glenn asked, making Aiden puff up slightly like that fact face him some big sense of authority.
"That's right." He smirked, everything about him was cocky. It made me angry to see the way he looked at each of us like we were inexperienced "I hear you got experience making supply runs."
Glenn nodded but there was a look about him that made me think I wasn't the only one not buying his bullshit "I saw your pantry. You guys seem to do pretty well."
Aiden made a face that tried to make it seem like it was easy. A bullshitters face. He rested his hands against the gun strapped around his body.
"Yeah, well, had some training before this." I raised an eyebrow at his claim, not sure what training he'd gotten, probably boyscouts "ROTC. Was nearing lieutenant when this shit blew in."
