Chapter 22

Niklaus POV

I was walking at the mall to get to where Kaye and Alex are but stopped when I saw a flower shop and decided to buy Kaye a bouquet. I'm not a romantic type of guy but I wanted to make her feel special. I bought tulips for her and I was even whistling while walking.

I'm so excited to see her. It's been two days since I last saw her and those days feels like hell. Damn. I'm so helpless when it comes to her but I don't mind.

Nararamdaman ko na malapit na akong mahalin ni Kaylareen. Konti nalang at mamahalin na din niya ako.

I went inside the restaurant where she said they were but I didn't saw them. My brows furrowed, I told her to wait for me. I searched again in case I just missed them and I took out my phone when I didn't.

Lumingon ako nang makarinig ng iyak ng bata na kinakausap ng isa sa crew... or is it the manager? I don't know.

Nakatalikod sa akin ang bata at naririnig ko siyang umiiyak. She's wearing a pink shirt, a straight cut denim jeans, and a rubber shoes. She's also hugging a cute Lightning Mcqueen stuffed toy from the movie cars. How cute.

I realized I was staring at the kid for a minute or two when two middle aged ladies passed by me and was looking at me intently. Napakamot ako sa ulo ko dahil sa klase ng tingin nila.

"Baka siya ang tatay? Hawig eh." Murmured by one of the ladies while still looking at me. I don't know if she was intending for me to hear it or her voice was just loud.

"Hindi mare, nakita ko yung mga magulang nung bata kanina hindi siya yung kasamang lalaki. Ang sweet pa nga nung magulang niyan dahil hinawakan pa ang kamay ng asawa." Answered by the other lady.

"Can I help you ladies?" I asked and flashed a big smile at them. They were stunned for a second and blinked twice before shaking their head.

"Ah eh wala naman hijo." Said one and the other nodded her head before theystarted walking away again.

"Jusko kung nabuhay lang yan nung kabataan ko ganon ang type ko."

"Ang tanong mare, type ka ba niya?"

"Edi pikot ang solusyon. Uso ang gayuma nung panahon natin" They said while giggling like a high school girl. Natawa at napailing nalang ako. Crazy women.

When I didn't saw Alex and Kaye, I tried calling Kaye's number but she's not answering my call so I tried calling Alex's phone. He answered on the third ring.

"Hello Sir Klaus?" He said in a panicky voice. My brows furrowed.

"Alex? Is there a problem?"

"Ay wala po sir. Bakit ka po tumawag?" He said with a little bit of panting and with a shaky voice. There must be something wrong.

"Kaye told me she's with you. I told her I'll go to that restaurant but you're both not there."

"Ah o-opo sir. Nauna na po kasi akong umalis sumakit po kasi yung tiyan ko." It wasn't long when I called tapos sumama na agad ang pakiramdam niya? "Ano po iniwan ko po si Kayla sa cr sa may department store. Naiihi na daw po kasi siya tapos ang haba ng pila sa restaurant. Dun mo nalang po siya puntahan."

"Are you sure?"

"Opo sir. Sige na po baka kanina ka pa hinihintay ni Kayla. Bye!" He hanged up. I stared at my phone screen.

May mali talaga. Alex never hangs up on me. I'm always the first one to end the call. I shrugged, If there's something going on he would have told me. I consider Alex as a friend and I know that I could trust him. I started to walk and headed for the department store.

Kaylareen POV

We've been searching for Rio near the restaurant and I almost died every minute that I haven't found her until I got a message from the restaurant manager that my daughter's there. Good thing my daughter memorized my phone number.

When Alex and I ran back to the restaurant, agad kaming napahinto ni Alex nang makita si Klaus na nakatayo sa harap ng restaurant at nagpipipindot sa cellphone niya. I took my phone out and I saw that I have three missed calls from him already.

"Alex anong gagawin natin? Nandoon si Riona at nasa labas si Klaus. Baka makita niya si Riona!" I said with my voice hoarse with fear.

"Bakla di ba ito naman ang gusto mo? Di ba plano mo naman na talagang ipakilala yung anak mo kay Sir? Baka ito na yung tamang pagkakataon." Mabilis akong umiling.

"Hindi. Hindi pa ako handa. Gagawin ko pero hindi pa ngayon." Alex tried to calm me down but I can't. I can't calm down knowing that my daughter and her father is only meters away from each other. "Alex tulungan mo ako. I-I can't..."

Napatingin kami sa cellphone ni Alex nang tumunog ito at agad kaming nagkatinginan nang makita na si Klaus ang tumatawag. Alex kept his eyes on my as he answered the phone. After talking to Klaus he looked at me and sighed.

"Sinabihan ko si sir na pumunta sa department store para umalis na siya sa harap ng restaurant. Kapag nakalayo na siya pupuntahan na natin ang anak mo. Dadalhin ko muna siya sa condo ko, doon mo nalang siya daanan mamaya pagkatapos niyong magkita ni sir Klaus." I hugged him.

"Thank you Alex. I'm sorry for dragging you into this mess." He sighed.

I know it's hard for him to lie to Klaus. Masiyadong mabait si Klaus para pagsinungalingan lang ng isang tao na itinuturing nitong kaibigan at alam ko din na malaki ang isinakripisyo ni Alex para sa akin.

"Sana lang bakla, masabi mo kaagad kay Klaus ang tungkol kay Riona. I'll be frank dahil kaibigan mo ako ha, hindi nila parehong deserve ito. They both deserve to know the truth." I bit my lips hard as my guilt is starting to eat me.

When Klaus was gone we immediately ran to where Riona is and I saw her sitting in a corner with puffy eyes from crying.

"Baby are you okay?" She nodded her head and wiped the tears from her eyes. I suddenly hugged her. "I'm sorry."

"Sorry mommy, I went out here and when I came back you and tito Alex were gone."

"It's okay baby. Stop crying na." Alex held my shoulder. I looked up at him and he nodded his head. "Baby, mommy had an emergency at work. You'll stay at tito Alex's place first and I'll go there to pick you up later, okay?"

"Okay mommy. I'll wait." I fixed Riona's hair first and kissed her on her forehead.

"Thanks Alex." I told him before I left him with my daughter and went to were Klaus is.
