I face palmed myself thinking about my earlier conversation with that jerkface Jungkook.

How come I am so muddle-headed around Jungkook?

"Kyungmi!"

Huh? The entire class was staring at me. Is this some kind of cliché teenage drama where the female lead has that embarrassing moment when the daydreams about her crush and gets interrupted by the stinky teacher?

Before I could even comprehend my own weird thoughts I was called again.

"Kyungmi, would you please honor us with your undivided attention? And answer the question?" the "teacher" asked. Ava was standing in front of the class giving a presentation about a topic she did research on. Yupp, definitely stinky teacher.

"I'm sorry, can you please repeat the question?" I asked.

"Who would have thought that I would be able to witness the day President Park Kyungmi is not paying attention in class. I hope it wasn't because my presentation is so irrelevant compared to the things you usually have to handle, hmh?" Ava feigned sadness.

I noticed the teacher looking at me grumpily. Urrrgh...

"Can you please-" I asked again. Ignoring her stupid provocation. Ava sighed dramatically. "If it's not to much trouble I'd like to ask our almighty President Park Kyungmi to contribute her highly regarded opinion to the question why Hitler was accepted by the majority of the German?" Oh, World War II...

"Well..." I gathered all the information about the issue I had from the top of my head "... the German economy was weakened after World War I. Citizens were unsatisfied, hungry and therefore held a grudge against the new democracy that was etablished in 1918. Hitler used the people's anger to gain followers. He promised to reduce the unemployment, revise the Treaty of Versailles, which by the way forced the already weakened German economy pay out war compensation. When Hitler was appointed as Reich Chancellor in 1933 the unemployment figures were already lowered compared to the years before Hitler used the development to his very own advantage. He commissioned to renew the German infrastructure, building the now so famous German highways, which are by the way against the common belief not an invention by the Nazi-Regime but the highway route was already planned by the Weimar Republic, which, of course, provided new jobs. Adding to that the Nazi-Regime passed the Law for the Restoration of the Professional Civil Service in 1934, which forbid the among others the Jewish to work as civil servants. All the Jewish who lost their job as officials were not registered in the unemployment statistics. Hitler also introduced marriage loans for young couples, when the woman was willing to give up her job and be a housewife for several years. All these women who 'gave up their jobs willingly' were not listed in the unemployment statistics as well. Those were just a few tricks Hitler used to tend the unemployment figures towards zero. So Hitler found found supporters in the former dissatisfied unemployed people who now found jobs under his regime. Besides that the Nazis went to great length with their propaganda. Interfering, banning, burning the German cultural assets that doesn't fit their beliefs. Kids in school were drummed the Nazi ideologies into their heads at school, people's daily life was controlled by the Nazis. Furthermore resistance fighters and opponents were persecuted, blackmailed, tortured, forced to work in labour camps, brought to concentration camps, killed, murdered .... terror was what resistance fighters had to face against the Nazi-Regime that did not tolerate opposition at all. Seeing that more and more people were of course frightened to resist against the Nazis. So there were of course these people who did not identify themselves with the Nazis but accepted them in fear. That's how only 1% of the Germans resisted against Hitler. To summarise my argumetation: The so called "economic growth", as well as the propaganda and the terror were one of the main reasons why the Germans accepted the Nazis." I said in a calm manner.

I noticed Ava's shock during my rant. She was frozen with her mouth open when I ended my little rant. See whether you can top that with your ridiculous pink index cards.

Our history teacher nodded contently. Puuuh....

Ava stuttered a few words to end her presentation before the bell rang.

I made my way towards the exit of the building ignoring Ava's death glares, while smiling at my classmates who rambled about how smart I was and how they couldn't answer Ava's question even though they had paid attention to her presentation all along let alone in such a calm manner like me.

"Kyungmi!" Jennie who exited from the math building hurried to me waving frantically.

"How was the calculus test?" I questioned.

"Fine, fine." the girl breathed

"My brother asked us to meet at the conference room, he rambled about a task you asked him to fulfill..." she looked questiongly at me.

Yes! Jin hyung had found something about what happened 10 years ago.
