“It’s ready, want to add the eggs?” Caleb asks.
“Yes!”
“You get too excited for the opportunity to crack eggs.”
“I know!”
“You’re weird, okay, add them now.” Caleb demands. “Don’t drop one!”
“Ugh, you almost made me drop it.”
“I know,” Caleb responds chuckling.
“You would have cleaned it!”
“Nope, I wouldn’t have been the one who dropped it.”
“Did you add everything else?”
“Yes, Danny. Did you ready the pans?”
“Yes, they’re ready. Just bring the brownie mix over.” Danny says.
Taking the pans to the oven Caleb exclaims, “Danny, don’t forget to set the timer!”
“I won’t now.” Danny mumbles causing Caleb to laugh.
“I’m just reminding you, so that you don’t get in trouble for wasting the mix.”
“I didn’t get in trouble with Kaiden. He just said not to repeat it.”
“Sure and you don’t remember him saying that he would make you wash all the dishes and clean the bakery, so that you would respect a baker’s job for like a week if it happened again?”
“That’s why I’m not forgetting.” Danny responds with a smile, “because my best friend reminded me to!”
“Just put the timer Danny and start washing the utensils.”
“I already did and got them.”
“Okay, I’m going to go see what else needs to be done before the day ends.”
“Hey, are you coming over tonight?”
“Do we have any more eclairs in the back?” Kaiden yells from the front of the bakery.
“Yes, we do! We have a dozen!” Caleb yells back.
“Please, bring them out!” Kaiden replies.
Taking them out Caleb replies, “I don’t think I can.”
“Why not?” Danny asks when Caleb returns.
“We’re having a family meeting. I think it has something to do with college.”
“Oh. Yeah, Seth and Nate have been on it too. Well, we’ll see each other tomorrow and good luck with that. You already have some idea right?”
“Too many ideas.” Caleb replies with a smile.
“It’s better than none.” Danny replies with a chuckle.
“Are ya’ll finish?” Kaiden asks walking in.
“Yes, we just need to put these away and broom and then we’ll be set to go.” Danny replies.
“Great! Do you need me to drive both of you home?”
