“Yes, dad. We are on our way. Sorry, we fell asleep.” Caleb states.
“- - -”
“No, dad!” Caleb exclaims; a blush creeps into his face. “I’ll be there soon.”
Danny wonders what made Caleb blush.
“What did your dad say?”
“Nothing.”
“So what has you blushing?”
“Nothing.”
“Tell me.”
Caleb shakes his head, “He said, I hope that’s not code for I had sex.”
Danny smiles. “But we didn’t…and why didn’t you blush during the talk, but you did now?”
“Because we hadn’t done anything.”
“So are you going to blush if someone insinuates something?”
“No. You’re having too much fun with this.”
“No just glad I’m not the only one blushing.”
“You weren’t even blushing.”
Danny responds with a smile.
“So who called you?” Caleb asks.
“Hmm, my dad.”
“What did he want?”
“He said…he said to break away from any sexual thoughts I might be having and start heading home.”
“How did you not blush at that? I didn’t even hear you hesitate or anything.”
“I don’t know. But they have the worse timing.”
“Well if you look at it from their point of view, not really. Did you notice the time?”
“No…oh, it’s way past midnight.”
“They’re up waiting for us.”
“Yeah, I can imagine your mom waiting for you.”
“And Seth for you.”
“Yeah if not both of them.”
“Wait, I still get to walk you to the door!” Danny exclaims before rushing to open the passenger’s door for Caleb.
“Thank you.” Caleb replies as they walk towards the door. “For a great date.”
Danny smiles, “You are very welcome. I had fun too.”
“Especially eating the ice cream.” Caleb smiles.
“Yes…you surprised me.”
Caleb smiles.
“You’re going to keep doing that.” Danny says.
“Who knows.”
“Do I get a goodnight kiss?” Danny asks.
“Yes, you do.”
“Goodnight, Caleb.” Danny states. “See you tomorrow.”
“Goodnight, Danny. See you tomorrow.”
“So how was the date?” Elena asks as soon as Caleb walks in.
“Mom, you startled me!”
