Chapter Twenty

"Have a nice day!"

"You too!" You called back to the cashier as you left the corner general store near your apartment. You strolled down the sidewalk, humming as you headed back home.

It was your second and last day off before training started up again. You had taken this opportunity to go grocery shopping for the week. Luckily, you had gotten paid for the mission yesterday, making up for the dip in your bank account that Naruto had made with his ramen addiction.

You were planning on making dinner for yourself, something you hadn't done since you lived in the Hidden Night Village. That really wasn't that long ago, but it felt like years had passed since you had been in the Land of Shadows. You had built a life here in Konoha, it would be sad when you would part the village in less than six months.

"Why hello!!! You must be (Y/N)! Kakashi's intern."

You turned to find a tall man in a green body suit and a black bowl cut.

"Remember me?" He grinned from ear to ear.

You smiled at his politely. "Yes, Guy, wasn't it?"

"So you do remember! Of course you would, the power of youth has blessed you with good memory!!!" The man gave a thumbs up, his other hand on his hip.

You felt sweat gather on the nape of your neck, this man was so energetic that simply looking at him made you tired.

"Well, I have to go now, got groceries to put away." You said, gesturing to your apartment across the street.

The man glanced at your balcony, looking back down at you brightly. "Then I can help you put your things away! It would be an honor for me to assist you!!!" He gave another big grin before grabbing all the bags out of your hands and skipping toward your apartment complex.

You were about to protest, but he had already run out of ear shot. You sighed in exasperation. Seeing as he already had your groceries, you couldn't just lock him out of your apartment. Besides, he was just being nice.

You followed the green clothed man up the apartment complex's stairs to your floor, unlocking your door and letting him in.

"My, what a lovely place you have!!! Just looking at it I know that such a youthful person dwells here!!!"

You rubbed your temples, feeling very exhausted. It was almost like Guy sucked all of the energy out of the air around him to fuel his bubbly personality.

You sat on the couch, watching as the green clothed man looked through your kitchen cabinets, putting food away for you.

"Vegetables!!! A good food choice, (Y/N). With healthy food, you are sure to prolong your youth!!!" The man waved around a can of beans and a carrot.

You chuckled a little, shaking your head at his behavior.

For a few minutes, you sat in comfortable silence, watching as Guy put your groceries away. You began to relax, lying down on the couch and closing your eyes.

"(Y/N)?" You opened your eyes to find Guy leaning over the couch staring at you. On reflex, you sat up straight, colliding foreheads with the green clothed man.

"Agh!!!" You both hissed in pain and clutched your heads.

"What the hell, Guy?" You glared at him. "Why'd you lean over me like that? You freaked me out."

He rubbed his forehead, shrugging indifferently. "Just maybe wanted to... sneak a peek?"

You rolled your eyes, realizing he had been trying to see past the shadows of your hood. "You're not gonna see anything, there is a jutsu inside my cloak to make it literally impossible for the wearer's face to be seen."
