Sho was the only person to successfully escape the Land of Shadows.

You shook your head in disbelief, you had his story completely wrong. The Council hadn't sent him, they were probably searching for him in that very moment. The questions was, how did he get away?

"Please... I know begging isn't any use to you but even so..." The ex-Nightmare seemed desperate. "Don't take me back..." He whispered out.

You could see the panic behind his eyes, heard the fear in his voice. Sho was afraid you would take him back to the Land of Shadows.

You shook your head. "I.... won't."

The man frowned, still unsure that you were telling the truth. "Why? You're the Violet Phantom. It's your job to-"

"- I.... will kill.... the .... Council...." You reached a hand up and slipped your hood off. The action surprised yourself, but you knew it was the best way to gain Sho's trust. You looked straight into his eyes, trying to communicate your hatred for the Council through them. "I... swear.... they will... die..."

The ex-Nightmare's eyes widened in surprise. "You..." He let out a chuckle. "I can't believe it..." A sadness washed over him. "If you are against the Council, why haven't you attacked them yet? Why are you out here, in the Land of Fire?"

You bit your lip, if only you could explain it to him. "Came here for.... help...I'm not.... strong enough.... alone...."

Sho frowned. "You aren't strong enough? But with your eyes-"

"-not enough...." You repeated.

The man sighed. "So you came to the Land of Fire to ask who... the Hokage for help?"

You nodded.

Sho ran a hand through his hair. "And will she? Will the Hokage help us?"

Us.

Despite yourself, you smiled. It felt nice to know you weren't alone anymore. "Don't... know... yet..."

The ex-Nightmare swore under his breath.

A moment of silence passed between you both.

"....How... did you.... escape....?" You rasped out, changing the subject.

The ex-Nightmare's expression turned dark as he realized your question. "I...I had to do things I never thought I would need to do." He seemed distant, his dark eyes looking far off.

You wondered exactly what he meant by that. Unfortunately, your throat was raw and if you spoke another word you'd probably start spitting out blood.

Instead, you walked up to Sho, analyzing the piercings decorating his skin. He seemed surprised at your close vicinity to him, his brow raised in question.

You reached down and grabbed his hand, holding it with his palm facing up. Using your left index finger, you traced letters into his palm.

He seemed to catch on quickly, watching as you spelled out several words.

What will you do now?

Sho shrugged. "My first plan was to get as far away from the Land of Shadows as possible, maybe settle down until the Nightmares would stop looking for me. But now..." He looked at you, remembering your promise to kill the Council. "I'm not so sure anymore."

Come with me.

You traced the words onto his palm.

Sho's eyes widened in surprise. He took a step back and you could watch the wheels in his brain turning, considering your offer. At last, he gained a look of resolution.
