Song - I Loved Her First -
Heartland

Jesse's POV
I was sittin' at my trailer waiting for Nick, and Jack showed up. I went into my trailer, and I heard Nick pull up.

"What are you doin' here?" Nick asked Jack

"I want to see her. I need to make things right." Jack said

"She wouldn't have bolted inside if she wanted to see you." Nick said gettin' in between the door and Jack

"I loved her first, I held her first." Jack said

"Shut up. Except you do not hold any card expect the 'I Hit Her And I'm Proud Of It' Card. Don't try to lie to me."

"Damn. How do you know all this?"

"LEAVE JACK. I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU. You abused me, WHY THE HELL WOULD I WANT YOU NEAR ME???" I yelled at Jack when I opened the door. I was dressed for the celebratory date. He surprised me with a date after the reward ceremony.

"Look, I just wanted to say I'm sorry. Ok? I didn't want to do anything other than talk." He said. In his eyes, I could tell he was lying.

"That is what you said last time, BEFORE you tried to rape me. May I remind you, that you ARE the reason I DO NOT trust men. If you think you can walk into my life, then you are sadly mistaken. I do not take well with cheaters, users, and LAIRS." I said. Trying to control my anger.

Jack finally left. We went down to the rodeo arena, and Nick help me out of the truck. He walked right beside me all the way, until it was dance time. I stayed close to Nick, but Jack never showed.

We danced the night away, and about the end of the night, a slow song came on.

"May I have this dance?" Nick asked holding out his hand for me to grab.

"Yes, you may." I said takin' his hand. I just realized what song it actually was.

I Loved Her First by Heartland

Look at the two of you dancing that way
Lost in the moment and each other's face
So much in love, you're alone in this place
Like there's nobody else in the worldI was enough for her not long ago
I was her number one, she told me so
And she still means the world to me
Just so you knowSo be careful when you hold my girl
Time changes everything, life must go on
And I'm not gonna stand in your way

I layed my head on Nick's chest as we danced. You have to remember, I'm 5'4 and Nick is like 6'3. Man do I love my cowboy.

I loved her first
I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers

From the first breath she breathed

When she first smiled at me

I knew the love of a father runs deep

And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But it's still hard to give her away

I loved her first
How could that beautiful woman with you

Be that same freckled face kid that I knew?

The one that I read all those fairy tales to
And tucked into bed all those nights
And I knew the first time I saw you with her

It was only a matter of time

Nick guided me along the dance floor. It is hard to find a good man, let alone one that can dance to.

I loved her first
I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But it's still hard to give her away
I loved her first

From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
Someday you might know what I'm going through
When a miracle smiles up at you
Yeah, I loved her first

As the song finished, Nick kissed me. I was in no way shape or form mad at him. It kinda shocked me, but I kissed back. Nick was the one who pulled away. He is my cowboy.
