"So, you and Tyler?" Madilyn teases over breakfast. She saw the kiss on New Years so there was no hiding what happened between Tyler and I from her, but I don't have an answer.
"I don't know." I shrug, because I don't. That kiss hasn't really changed anything, it didn't make us a couple – we're still in that middle place between being together and it being casual.
Part of me wants to ask Tyler if we are exclusive but I don't know if either of us is ready for that. We haven't seen each other since New Years but he texted me a few days ago asking to go for dinner this weekend but considering its now Saturday and I haven't heard from him since, I assume we're not going.
Maddie heads home shortly after we finish eating so I catch up on work since I took extra holidays. I'm behind on about everything so when my phone buzzes, I don't check it right away. It's hours before I get free time and I'm disappointed that it's from Jax because I've been waiting for Tyler to text me all day.

I consider inviting Axel to visit but I don't know if he would be up for that yet. I know that he's trying to work things out with mom and dad, but I haven't heard how it's going yet.
I'm hoping for the best but prepared for the worst.
January 6th
I rarely have guests, so the spare bedroom is a mess. The bed clothes needs to be changed and everything needs to be dusted. I spend my day doing this, trying not to think about the fact that Tyler basically blew me off this weekend. He still hasn't texted me and I'm trying not to let it get to me because it would be petty. He doesn't have any obligations to me nor do I to him but it's still disappointing.
I'm watching a movie when my phone buzzes and I look to see Axel texting me.

I quickly open Instagram and go to Tyler's profile and my heart breaks when I see his latest post.
