“Second Chance”

I remember the day you left me
I was a total mess, conquered by misery
For a long time you were gone
I sensed you’re happy with someone.

Until this unexpected day came
A lot of things between us has changed
You looked into my eyes and proved me you’re still the same
The real you, nothing strange.

You knelt and begged for my forgiveness
For being such a jerk and for your stupidity
I know you’re sincere and well, I'm selfless
Didn’t hesitate, I accepted your apology.

Another unexpected, a question you asked me
“Will there be a chance for you to love me again?”
I simply smiled and nodded unconsciously
It’s like in the past, I didn't feel any pain.

They say that in time, feelings will fade
I proved them wrong because mine remained
I can’t help myself to glance
Took a deep breath. “You deserve a second chance.”
