Simon's POV:

I really enjoyed working with Josh earlier we have so much more in common than I think anyone could ever think. Our sense of humours were so similar it was like we were the same person.

"Yo Simon" JJ said from next to me. We were all sitting at the lunch table and by we I meant me, my 5 friends and some other people who are kinda arseholes but just sit with us cause they're semi-popular.
"Yeah" I responded
"You and Josh seemed to really get along earlier, I didn't expect that I mean you're literally polar opposites"
"Yeah you're popular, he's a loser; you're nice, he's emo; and most of all you're normal, he's a queer little f*ggot" one of the arseholes said laughing at the last bit with more of his arsehole friends
"Oi, no. You don't get to say that, EVER, you hear me - Josh is not a loser he's really nice and that is a disgusting word that definitely shouldn't be coming out of your mouth especially to describe him. Pipe the fuck down." I said aggressively

"And yes JJ we did get along and I think we will continue to as I said he's really nice" as I finish my sentence I see Josh walk past looking clearly upset - he must have heard what the arsehole said. For fuck sake Josh didn't deserve that.

He quickly rushed out the doors of the cafeteria.

"I'll be back in a minute" I said getting out of my seat
"You're seriously gonna follow him, he ain't worth it mate" one of the other arseholes said. I just rolled my eyes and said
"You ain't my mate"

Josh's POV:

I was siting at a table by myself at lunch like always when I hear a conversation from Simon's table that involved my name.

"You and Josh seemed to get along earlier, I didn't expect that I mean you're literally polar opposites" One of his friends I'm 99% sure is called Olajide or JJ as most people called him said

"Yeah you're popular, he's a loser; you're nice, he's emo; and most of all you're normal, he's a queer little f*ggot" someone else on the table said.

I tried not to let comments get to me but that fucking hurt. I couldn't sit here and listen to this. I began to get out of my seat and gather my stuff into my bag. Before I could fully leave I heard Simon begin to speak.

"Oi, no. You don't get to say that, EVER, you hear me - Josh is not a loser he's really nice and that is a disgusting word that definitely shouldn't be coming out of your mouth especially to describe him. Pipe the fuck down." He said

Why was Simon standing up for me he's only spoke to me once? Sure we really got along but why would he defend me to his friends. I didn't want to listen to them now ridicule him for doing so, so I made my way towards the exit and swiftly left.
