Every morning it's one and the same. When I open my eyes, I feel my back aching. Lately, it has only been my back. It used to be all over my body.

It's been like that throughout my whole life.

As a vampire-human hybrid, I grow faster than other children. It takes me a year to grow with around two or three. It is painful.

Puberty was a nightmare. I used to shred clothes almost on a daily basis at one point. However, it hasn't happened recently. Perhaps my growth is finally slowing down.

I am expected to stop growing in a couple of months when it is seven years after my birth. I don't know what age should I tell people I am when I am asked. I've been on this earth for shorter than it looks like.

I've known nothing but the island. Mother says that we've moved soon after my birth, that we have lived somewhere else. But she doesn't talk about the past anymore.

I wonder if I have any other relatives. Where do I come from?
