On the next morning, I wake up an hour earlier than usual. It gives me more time to get ready for the day before I have to leave with my grandfather. I even start one of the new books I got for Christmas. If I have enough time, I might be able to finish it by the end of the day.

Normally, I tie my hair into a messy bun or let it down when it's less greasy. Not today. I braid it as aunt Alice has taught me.

If I didn't wear a hospital gown on an almost daily basis, I would wear my favourite cardigan. What's the point, however? I don't get that cold and it's not that cold at the hospital either.

I try not to think about the siblings. I might not see them today. They don't have to be at the hospital every day.

Or do they?
