On the next day, Jacob is surprised by my new look. Long gone are the long messy locks and the hospital gown.

On Saturday, I had insisted to wear normal clothes at the hospital from now on. I was going to be officially out of treatment as soon as I turned seven, so I didn't see the point to wear a hospital gown anymore. That pleased my aunts, who took me shopping on Sunday. And aunt Alice still insisted on having my hair fixed and as usual, I refused.

"Don't be," I tell Jake, "Changes are normal. We all change day by day," I smile at him.
