From where he sat, he could watch the sun set.
The day was clear; not a single cloud in the sky, some would say. The day was warm but now there was a slight chill.
The park was empty and was dry as a bone, it was empty but now a man sat smiling at the horizon. He wasn't old and he wasn't young either, there was something about him that screamed old. Maybe it was the way he dressed; jeans and a t-shirt, or maybe it was from the look in his amber eyes. This was a person who had lived.
As the sun approaches the horizon the sky burst with colours, soft yellows and pinks, harsh reds and oranges. On the opposite side the pale moon rose to it's rightful place while bringing the darkness too.
The man sat too still, he didn't blink very often either; he still had a pleasant smile plastered on his wise face while he watch the sun go down.
The sun was almost done and the day was almost over. A few clouds finally gathered here and there like they were saying their 'good byes' to the sun, while on the other side a light for had began to desend and it seemed to take chill left from the sun.The man still watched the light of the day fade away. He seemed to look less solid, like he was a ghost living one last day. His blinks were slow and remorseful as the finally set.
Darkness consumed they sky like it was a tasty treat. They few clouds that had appeared thickened and consumed the darkened sky. Lampposts around the park slowly began to pop into life and glowed pure white light.
The man seemed more transparent now more than ever, you could almost see the scenery through him, it was a strange sight but there was something blissful about it. The man turned his head to the sky and whispered a final 'good bye'. He faded away like a dieing flame but it was everything but sad.
Rain suddenly poured from the sky as if it was weeping at the lost of the man. The rain fell through every bit of the dry earth like a much needed drink.
It rained so much the it eventually began to bounce off the soaked bench and wet pavement.
I should know since I was there . . .
I love this so much ♡
